This was the original season 1 theme tune for Starsky & Hutch, and its great to see the original chase scene from the "pilot" movie, which was used in the opening sequences. I have the complete series on dvd, and the theme tune changed slightly with each season. Love the show, Love the car, which I have seen, and it was, as you Yanks would say, "Awesome" Long may Paul, David, and Antonio, live on. r.i.p. Bernie Hamilton (Chief Dobey)

The original and the best theme for Starsky & Hutch. Written by the great Lalo Scafrin, of Mission: Impossible! fame, as well as a host of others. Just as an FYI, the Ford Gran Torino sucked as a car, but Starsky's paint job made it look cool as hell!

I hate Fords, but I loved the car. Granted, I was only ten.

The great Lalo Schifrin. Rollercoaster's motion picture score, other excellent work.

I think Starsky would have owned a car like that had he not been a cop, as Glaser potrayed him as being flashy and into the fashions of the day. Glaser was correct in saying that a car with such loud paintwork would have been impossible to carry out a stakeout in, plus being a cop would have put a target on his back so he would stand out a mile in such a car. His and Soul's camaraderie, along with Hutch's banger would have kept the show going. Still, that Torino was impressive looking all the same.

Yeah, but the Gran Torino from the movie was even better.

Why was the black car chasing Starsky and Hutch in the intro? Shouldn't it be the other way around?
