I would recommend buying 1 or 2 of the "Blood Claws" boxes. It comes with 15 firstborn SW bodies with all the heads and weapon options. With this you can build not only Blood Claw squads which are a cheap and very versatile troop choice to fill a battalion. You can also build out your Wolf Guard squads with claws, shields, hammers and axes. Then you just need to get the jump packs separately and glue them on.

What a fantastic channel I've really enjoyed the content so far. I really hope you continue to make these. Really interesting advice, I've been collecting space Wolves for about seven years but I've only had them on the table a couple of times in ninth edition. Your guides have been very useful in giving me ideas of how to make it quite scary army that might surprise some of my more competitive friends. Although I do think there's something missing here, old school mini marines and the plastic jump packs that you can buy from games workshop. I get that there is a concern that they might be phased out but I do think they offer a lot to new players. Best of all you get loads of space Wolf trinkets, pelts, heads and all the rest of it. Two boxes will make your primaris actually look like space Wolves without the need for green stuff. Competitively blood claws are a tiny bit cheaper than the new marines, their statline is worse than the assault intercessors but does that really matter? Most of the time I don't think you'd even notice the difference on three minimum size squads. An extra 15 points doesn't sound like much but when it's between an extra wolfen dreadnought I'll happily drop down the quality of my troops a bit. Supposing you've bought two of the blood claw/grey hunter boxes and built your three minimum sized troops choices, you could turn the remaining five into characters, wolf guard (especially with the jump pack sprue,) or even longfangs if you scout some heavy weapons on eBay. I think a GT winning list used a drop pod with multi-melta longfangs. And even if they do get phased out you've got your hands on a piece of history!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Such support means a lot to me! I agree regarding the Space Wolves Grey Hunters box - it’s a priceless source for bits. As to their use in games - there is truly argument in taking those instead of assault intercessors, but only in situations where those 5-15 points are of the essence. In other cases I won’t recommend it) The only problem I have with mini marines is their scale - they look tiny and that’s something a Space Marine is not. I however see the sentimental and historical value in these models, and get why some players love them so much) As for the Drop pods w/ multimeltas - that sounds like a strong combo. Perhaps I should try and build a list around that in the future.

@@vfminiatures I hear you about the scale, the new ones look so much better and are way easier to paint up. But we've got tiny dreadnoughts, terminators, mini Marines on thunder Wolf cavalry, and Vanguard vets. We certainly are in this weird sort of between phase. I think longfangs in drop pods are a little more efficient for space Wolves because we still can take five Heavy weapons. It's a lot of points for something that your immediately going to trade, 278 with the drop pod. But I'm not gonna lie I've picked up a second-hand drop pod and 5 multi-meltas.

I agree. Most everything is geared towards 2000 point competition. Next to no vids about 500point or 1000 point entry play

At 17:13 are those models that should be bought on top of a combat patrol box, or without a combat patrol box?
@vfminiatures2 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you’ve set your goal as. If you want to have a full collection - then in addition to. If you want to build any collection for a start, and don’t mind lacking in some areas - then instead of. Hope it helps)

@@vfminiatures thanks for getting back so fast! I think I want to go for a combat patrol box after looking at prices to start off with, but should I get the blood angel box for its numbers or the dark angel box for the redemptor?
@vfminiatures2 жыл бұрын
You are most welcome! I’d take the Redemptor one first, because imho it has the best value. Maybe even two

@@vfminiatures thank you for the help. So 1 or 2 dark angels boxes with a bike chaplain or wulfen dreadnought would be a good starting point?

Definitely! I’d pick up Njal Stormcaller as well, he is badass (and cheap)

Realising how much money you have to spend in order to have a flexible army is tough 😄 Propably like 1000-1500 euros just for the plastic

Yes, it unfortunate, but compared to many other hobbies - price isn’t not that bad actually)
