These days, if you’re not squatting “ass to grass,” it’s like you’re committing a gym sin. Everyone’s all about “full range of motion,” and anything less gets side-eyed. But experienced lifters, like Bill here, know better. They’ve been around long enough to break the "rules" when it makes sense. It’s not about chasing trends. It's about knowing what works for your body at each moment. Listen to what your body’s telling you, take your time, and see what happens (good or bad). At the end of the day, it’s not about looking perfect like in ballet. It’s about getting results that feel right for you.

@@Billmaedahawaii amazing how sore I get. There are 2 sets of stairs and a 50 meter walking in between near my apartment. Outdoors. 39 stairs and 51 stairs. Weighted vest and double ankle weights above each boot. I lunge up 39 stairs two at a time, walk to the set of 51 and repeat. Back and fourth. Mobility, shadow boxing jump rope at home. Kettlebells and weights. Everything we need is online.

Brutally simple and effective... aka Perfect! One thing I'd like to share (as a lifelong learner), literally right before watching this video I watched one by Physical Therapist Margaret Martin. She made a very strong case for not doing squats with arms extended but rather keeping them in line with the body because arms in front puts unnecessary pressure on lower back discs and is a less natural/less functional movement pattern. Food for thought?...

Hey dear Bill, love your videos. Why youre not going full range of motion? if deeper squats or more protracted pushups🙏

Hi Bill! Happy new year and thanks for sharing your workouts and tips. I love them! Just one question: why do you exhale in the negative part of the squat? I was always been said that you have to exhale when finish the up movement and inhale when going down to the ground. I'm sure you do it for some important reason. Thx!!
