I rarely comment online but have been following your journey for a while. Looking through these comments what stands out is that pretty much every one has meaning. People connect with you. There is not a superficial comment among them. Your natural honesty and beautiful soul shines through your vids and resonates with so many people. Looking forward to the next chapter unfolding

Hi, what an interesting plot you have bought. From what we could see there are clear demarcations between the dry hill-sides and the rain drainage gullies, so many trails!! Looking forward to seeing what you create in the future videos. Hope your poorly arm makes a swift recovery, cheers from Queensland, Aus

I’ve followed your journey from video 1 to the full renovation of the village house. You come across as a very talented, artistic, articulate, very likeable person but above all, a grafter and your tenacity does you proud. Sincere congratulations on finishing the house. I felt your pain, frustration and joy at every milestone. If I were to have a house built, it would be by you as your attention to detail is second to none. Looking forward to next chapter in your life and I hope your arm gets better very soon. Best wishes.

I’ve literally just started watching, I saw the house in the village first, then naturally started watching more, but in all honesty, if that is the size of your land, you could easily take a weekend trip, just seeing the whole area! Wow!! What a fantastic place to live!

Hi. You really need to get that unclaimed land sorted. You wouldn't believe how far development has come in land over the last 25 years. Plant grapes or something. Rant over, you have a really nice place there, very envious of that view

Take care of yourself, you completed such a lot of work on the town house in a relatively short time. I hope your injury is not too serious. I know you must have a million thoughts on you own house and can't wait to get started but health has to come first. Best wishes from Scotland.

Andrew, I just discovered your channel. You are an amazing craftsman and a wonderful commentator. You had me interested from the beginning! Sorry to hear about your arm injury. It can feel catastrophic when you’re trying hard to finish your home. As a female, it was difficult to get started flipping houses. To date I’ve done 32. The diagnosis of a crippling disease has put the kibosh on any future projects…so I’m overjoyed to find you’re living my dream in Portugal! I’ll be here in Oregon, USA cheering you on. Please heal quickly. 🤗

I came up with a plan for the roof slab. The cracks in the slab are far worst look from underneath. I would drill holes from underneath either side of the cracks. Cut 6" flat steel plates and weld them to short pieces of rebar, long enough to stick up 3" or 2.5" above the roof slab. I would epoxy them, to glue them in place. I would knock down the walls on the roof, so the slab is sitting on the walls. Then you can run rebar attaching them to the sticking up pieces of rebar and square rebar to strengthen the roof slab. You can now pour a new concrete slab. As always its your job and your home so you can do anything you want.

That is a fine piece of property Andrew, I do like the new name of the channel too. I’m hoping your arm heals nicely after some rest, thinking of all the work you’ve done in the last year, it’s not hard to wonder how you’ve managed an injury like that. Anyway, very much looking forward to your new endeavor and getting to know the dogs better. It’s difficult for a long time, actually, forever when you’ve lost a very close companion like Burt, for me, it was Buddy and it’s been 3 years, still miss that little dude everyday.

There is a product available in Australia that our farmers in arid areas use to stop the water in dams leaching back into the soil so they hold water much better. You add it to the water in the dam when full and as it settles out it forms a barrier with the silt in the dam bottom. A few different brands available but I can’t personally recommend one as I’ve never had to use it myself.
