Hi Gayle, I made one of these altered books, and I followed your original tutorial. My friends just raved about it. I took it to the limits with collage, distress crayons, alcohol inks, etc. But it was your teaching me the nuts and bolts of "how to" that made my efforts a success. Mucho, mucho amor!

I know what you mean about books and the words we come across...I purchased a dollar store book thinking it was safe and wowza, I was way off base. When I started to make a video with it, I was quite surprised! I sent the book to the trash. Love the pages you've made. Each one is so pretty. There are so many wonderful digital designs out there.

OH i just love your altered books gayle! love watching you make them! i still want to make a writing journal with an altered book, tear out pages-glue 2 together-cover with coffee papers, etc and have a pocket in front/back cover. maybe a couple embellishments, and probably not tear out quite as many since there won't be pockets and such. in the meantime....i will enjoy watching you create yet another masterpiece!! hugs to all and a scratch behind the ears to JJ, hope he's on the mend and doing well. xo

There has got to be a setting when you're printing for "borderless". Makes me crazy to see all those gorgeous digs kits with that wasted white border-(not just here on your channel, I see it everywhere) Most of the kits are designed to fill the pages with delicious design and decor. Not to mention all the time (and paper) wasted getting rid of those obnoxious white edges (obviously not in the instance of tearing them into bits for collage...but if it were printed without the border, it could have been folded in half and made into a grand base for a true two-page spread).

I enjoy altered book journals, but they seem to fall apart on me. I will be watching to pick up hints and quite likely, I am doing something wrong! lol! Trying to catch up on video watching as I'm laid up with an injured back. We purchased a home and I've been packing and lifted too heavy of a box.
