Owned 2016 Dark Gray Honda Civic with the similar trim for two years now and not a moment that I regret buying this car. Beautiful exterior, spacious interior, and audio system is pretty good. "Brake Hold" is officially a feature that I cannot live without it! Plus the auto start feature is pretty awesome to have! My 40oz hydro flask was able to fit in that bin perfectly at 9:20 which was a bonus for me. Outstanding car to do a road trip! I lived in LA California and I visited San Francisco, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah driving my Civic. It can do more than 42mpg, I think the record I was able to achieve was 51mpg on the highway. Overall, I was spoiled by this car and the best bang for the buck I had ever spend.

Great review! I bought this exact car (even the same color) in September of 2018 and I love it. This is my 3rd Civic in the past 19 years and they've all been great, but this one was a huge leap from 2008 model that I had before. You're really getting the best of both worlds with the 1.5 EX-T. When you want to go quick, it will move, once the turbo spools up. But if you want to save money on gas, it really can get the mpg that it's rated at, and without really trying that hard. One feature that I really enjoy is the Android Auto (it has Apple Car Play too, but I'm an Android guy). That gives me the option to run either Google Maps or Waze for navigation and they both work great. Another feature I like is that you can use the extra USB port below the cup holder to load up a bunch of music. I have over 100 CDs worth of songs ripped and copied onto a thumb drive and it works really well. I did try the 3 month free trial of Sirius XM and while I liked it I didn't feel it would be worth the monthly fee. Especially with so many other options for music. It does NOT have a CD player, but with the option to get tons of music through USB and from a phone (e.g. Android Auto provides access to Amazon Music), I haven't missed it. One thing I really like is how sharp this car looks. My previous two Civics, a green '97 and a silver '08 were about is boring as you could get. So I decided my next car was going to more fun to drive, and just plain look cooler. This one actually looks very nice, and I love it in the Aegean Blue. It really stands out when parked in a row of black or grey SUVs at the grocery store. I did consider getting the Touring model for the extra features and the subwoofer, but ultimately decided to be more frugal. And even without a subwoofer, the EX-T model does sound very good. Overall I am very pleased with this car, and every time I go out to my garage I still can't believe I now have a car this nice!
@jakobbecker65165 жыл бұрын
Patrick Hauser quick thing about the Sirius XM. If you buy the cheapest package and then wait til it runs out you can get a much more reasonable price. Just call and tell them you want to cancel and they will usually offer you 6 months for $30 which is a lot better.

Being 20 years old I didn’t think I would be able to get a car like this on my own! I went from a 2002 Honda Accord to this 2018 Honda Civic Ex-T in this gorgeous blue color! I’m in love, well worth the price and the sport mode really has some get up and go behind it. I would recommend this car to anyone. Plus Honda financing is fantastic! They were able to work with me and keep my payment low, couldn’t be happier.

Personally and this is just my opinion ok. I believe that the black panther movie sucked. After the movie I sat there wanting my money back. Of course there was a moron in back of me that brought his baby making the movie more awful for me to bare. And my mom was texting me through out the movie asking me to not forget to buy her lottery tickets on my way home. And as the movie was going on all that was in my head was in about 4 hours the Lakers were going to play the 76ers away from staple center and that was bumming me out because the Lakers this season of 2017-2018 are not any good. So I figure well put this game on the lost column. But about this video, yo that cup holder description was tight. I would buy this car

I just bought the 2017 of this version of car. I got it for 19500 with 2000 miles on it. It is a blast to drive. Talk about tight steering. I can make a complete turn around with the car with just one hand on the wheel. The car runs so smooth. Has just enough speed and is fun as hell to drive. It has so many functions. Car will unlock and lock itself by just sensing your fob. The only thing i don't like is the seats aren't as comfortable as my fusion but with an added cushion it fixes the problem. A little harder to get in and out of compared to a mid size car. But once youre inside and driving down the road it is fun fun fun to drive.

Trying to get a new car torn between the Mazda3 or the Honda ex-t ... recommendation please 😕
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Hey Evelyn...I think you’d be happy with either one. The Mazda3 feels pretty good to drive with handling and the way the steering feels. The Civic has lighter steering which makes it a bit more relaxing. The Civic will be faster and more efficient. You can get quite a few features on the Mazda3 as options. The Civic has more trunk and back seat space which is nice, plus a more practical interior console/storage area IMO. Even though the Mazda is fun I think the Civic is a more practical option. You leaning one way or the other? I got to spend a lot of time driving a Mazda3 and reviewed/test drove it if you wanna see: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6G6cp-re5ikpJo Good luck to you 🙂

Still happy with my EX-T 2017. Something I noticed a couple weeks ago is that the passenger seat was kinda vibrating, first I thought it was because the music was too loud or the bass to high. I turned the volumen off but still when I put my hand over the head of the seat, it was still vibrating, nothing wow crazy but you can feel it. Have you noticed something like this in the Civics 20th Gen you have tested? Thanks

The Car was involved in a rear left side accident; the left front door, rear left door, left quarter panel and the left roof airbag was replaced/painted. There was no frame damage or mechanical issues as a result of the accident the dealer says. It’s listed for 10,999 and has 35,000mi. Do you think this could be a good buy? I appreciate any advice.

Gabrielle sorry I missed your comment earlier. I would be hesitant to buy it after the accident too. If you get it, It sounds like a good price but if possible see if the dealer would let you take it to and independent mechanic for a quick look to see if there’s anything they would see or notice that could be an issue, just in case. Also be sure to double check with your car insurance company what insurance would be because things change after there’s been an accident.

I’m not sure. I haven’t heard about leaks from the Civic sunroof. We have an 04 Toyota Highlander with one and haven’t had any leaks. There might be some conditioner you could use in the seals. Probably best to check Honda forums to see if anyone else is having problems

How reliable is the turbo engine? I hear a lot about needing to do oil changes to keep it from messing up.
@marctemura20173 жыл бұрын
Turbo's can be a bitch to fix. If you live in part of a country that has fine dust it not really recommended because the old turbo you had to keep really clean for them to function right.

Does the MPG vary in Winters? Cux I live in Niagara Region which goes to - 20` to - 30 in winters.
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Personally I couldn’t tell you for sure but but in my experience in cold winters (not here in Texas) my MPG always was lower. Probably depends on if you warm the engine up and for how long, road conditions..I’d expect it to drop a bit though
@k.c.slawncare60466 жыл бұрын
MPG is affected. I'm in Northern Ontario and I always get worse gas mileage. Having the car idle for 10 minutes doesn't help. Not much you can do about it, It's just the way she goes.

Civic vs Mazda 3 base models. What's your opinion?
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Dang. On the base I would maybe go with the Mazda3 because if it’s driving dynamics and interior feel. At least my heart would want that. My head might say Civic because of the extra backseat and trunk space/interior practicality. On the other trims, I would probably go Civic. Are you leaning one or the other? I got to spend quite a bit of time with the Mazda3 and liked it, wish I had more time with a Civic
@AntonGumiran6 жыл бұрын
@@PrimeAutotainment Right now I'm leaning towards the 3 because I dont really see much reviews of the base models Civic. Also in my country the Civic and Mazda 3 are only available on CVT and Automatic respectively. The Civic seems to be the better deal in terms of practicality but I have no idea how reliable the CVT of the Civic.
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Interesting about the transmissions! I’m not sure about the reliability either. I definitely don’t really hear about them like the Nissan CVTs. Maybe do some research in forums. The practicality is the Civic is definitely nice, Honda always does good with that. Good luck with your decision!

How come the Honda website says 28mpg in the city and you and other places sat 32mpg??
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Hi James, the 28 MPG is with the base engine and manual transmission. The 1.5 Liter turbo engine with a CVT is what gets the best MPG. In the Honda site you can go to “Models and specs” then “compare models and specs” and it should let you compare trims and see which combination gets what. Hope that helps!

Has anyone heard of or had any engine problems? I’ve read that turbo engines don’t do well in the south, I’m in Texas
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
I’ve heard of the 1.5T having “oil dilution” where fuel and oil are mixing that causes issues, but more prevalent on the CR-V. Honda is supposedly working on a fix. As far as being in the South...I’ve driven several turbos in North Texas and haven’t noticed anything unusual. Turbo engines do better than non turbo engines in higher elevation because they can force more air into the engine, but haven’t heard of any deficits in warm/humid weather

Wasted $11,000 for nothing. Don't. Don't. Don't ever get a car without lumbar support. Power is not necessary but lumbar is the key. Go for the EXL. You'll love it.

Considering this model as the first car I’m buying in the coming months. Forgive my ignorance, as I’m new to all of this but what engine do I need if I drive 10-20 miles from my house to work? The 1.5L or 2.0L?
@PrimeAutotainment6 жыл бұрын
Good question, well if you want the quickest, fastest...go with the 1.5. The 2.0 is sufficient for speed but if it’s a lot of highway driving and you need to pass people or merge quickly then I’d go with the 1.5. Otherwise if that’s not a big deal, the 2.0 is definitely sufficient and cheaper with the trim levels. Since the 2.0 is not a turbo, there’s potential it could be longer lasting and/or need less maintenance. But maybe not! Which one you thinking?
@bergthe89th126 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s a lot of highway driving, outskirts of town. So I’m guessing the 1.5 turbo then?
