Had two frozen solid chicken thighs and thought - why not. Followed your instructions exactly and they were amazing! Thanks Louise. Had a delicious dinner and saved $$$ by not having to order carry out.

This was one of your most informative and helpful videos! I’m a huge fussy and flipper cook, so any recipe where I can constantly adjust time and temp, are my favorite. So very helpful! Thank you!

I cook frozen chicken legs using the foodi pressure cook feature until thawed but not fully cooked. This is when I put on the oil and herbs etc. Leave the water in and air crisp on high util up to temp. Turns out amazing every time, juicy with a crisp skin. But your method seems to be just as good but without the need for the pressure lid. Thanks for the new idea.

For 2 legs, just put on rack with 1 cup of water in pot, cook on high for 8 mins and do a natural release. Spray on olive oil and add your favourite rub ingredients. I use rosemary, onion & garlic salt and smoked paprika. I just do this for the top side of the legs. Air crisp until the proper internal temp is reached. No need to tip out water from pressure cooking. I do this all the time, as it is quick and delicious. Give it a go, hopefully you will too. 😀

I have the 14-1 600 version and am just starting to use it almost daily. I rarely use my other appliances now. I made the pork tenderloins as per the booklet and they came out perfect. I also made steelhead trout on bake as I normally would in the oven and it takes 15 minutes. I will make the chicken legs then soup with it today and will start yogourt right after that meal and let it go 12 hours for Greek yoghurt in the morning.

I know its different strokes for different folks..lol😂 however, Im one of those ppl would cleans all meat, thoroughly, when taken out of the package. Especially chicken, (Thighs, wings, legs) simply becaise, of that slime, fat and/or small feather (wings), that is never removed, from chicken straight out the pack. The only part I may consider from frozen may be the breast. But not likely. I get that some ppl will cook frozen meat. But me, I just cant. Id have to eat something else. I do LOVE amd appreciate your videos though. You speak to all ranges of an audience/cookers. You are simply the BEST Ms Louise. You teach all methods. ❤😊

Keep in mind that if you had the OL701 model, you would've been able to use the temp needle and have the Ninja Pot automatically shutoff when it has reached the designated temperature. I have the OL701 and I love it! It was pretty pricey at $350 but I hope it will last me for years on end!

If I’m understanding your question I think it’s the machine’s way of heating back up to temperature faster if the lid has been opened, which obviously allows heat to escape.

I know what you mean. I had one of these Smart Lid models for a few weeks. That noise you mentioned from the air fryer lid was SO noisy and, in addition to all the beeping sounds, we decided to donate it. I was heartbroken.
@averyvaliant
@averyvaliant Жыл бұрын
@@kathleenleslie5527 Ah yea, sorry, I'm terrible at asking questions sometimes haha, I just noticed in videos where the air fryer is working, you can hear the fan speed/noise constantly speeding up and slowing down, that doesn't happen on the older models. An example being at 5:44, when Louise changes the temperature, you can hear the fan speeding up.

HELP. I was cooking oatmeal in my ninja foodi and it boiled over because I had it too high. It got under the pot in the heater unit. Most of it came out of the overflow holder and out the bottom. How to I get the rest out ? How do I clean it out? I’ve seen many cleaning videos for the lids but not for this help 😢

Way to complicated for a 72year old I will be sure to thaw ahead. Temperature up down up Dawn......now I'm just crazy.Maybe that's why I 'wilk stick to the oven. I guess I am just to old to learn new tricks. Thank you for your knowledge. Sincerely, Debbie and Dexter-Dog my rescued Chihuahua companion living a quiet crafty life in southern California. 👍💞🏠🐾😄🇺🇸✝️

Debbie, I initially thought the same thing and I'm 62. Guess what? Even though I've gotten pretty OCD in my more 'experienced' years, 🤭 this old dog was easily able to learn this new trick! See, I didn't want to be defeated by a machine!🤦🏻‍♀️ So I followed Louise's step by step "unboxing of the Foodi' video. Next, I watched her do the water test, and so I did the water test... successfully too!! (And man, did I feel accomplished!)😂 Then I watched her video on 'how to hard boil eggs'. Guess what again? I made the best and easiest to peel hard boiled eggs I've ever made! Since I live in SoFlo, I've adjusted the time for my liking & humidity variations & I use the 3-3-3 timing & they come out perfectly every time for me! The next thing you know, I was making the best, most tender pot roast ever! I mean, dayam!👏🏻🤤🤤😋😋👍🏻 She even got me eating fruit with protein! Her Mexican Pork recipe has pineapple and pork, something I never thought I'd eat together let alone like!! 🤤🤷🏻‍♀️❤ Everytime I make a 'Louise' recipe, it's always AMAZING!!! Using the Foodi is easier than it looks at first glance and it's truly life changing! Honestly! I regularly make soups & chili now, (even in SoFlo!) in under 30 minutes! 🤯🤤 🍜 I have a really bad back problem and see a pain management doc. Because of that, it's difficult for me to stand in one place for a long period of time. So I normally do my mis en plas ahead of time for anything I make, & either leave it out, or refrigerate it, depending on what it is. It allows me to take a break in between the prep. Then when I'm ready to make the recipe, everything is ready to go.(including my back🤭) You can DM me if you have any questions! Once you get a taste of the 'Ninja juice', you'll get addicted fairly easily! I know I did, and I'm proud of it! Honestly, it's not complicated.🥰 Try it, you'll definitely like it! I certainly did!🥰🥰💖💖 Sue in sunny South Florida 😎🌴😋

I never heard the word Thalled. Is that the same as thaw? The word that has no “l” in it…😂 Trust me, I have mispronounced many words, but the moment somebody pointed it out to me I made an effort to say it correctly. When you have a massive audience …there are audience members that might think that’s really a word when it’s not. I don’t understand why KZbin influencers don’t take more concern with this problem.
@daveinca2

I don't think people are looking to cooking videos for perfect pronunciation. There are plenty of youtube videos that cover that.

@TheSaltedPepper
@TheSaltedPepper Жыл бұрын
Thawed is a word, so your concerns are unfounded. If it sounded like I said thalled, then that is simply my accent I guess. I don't consider myself a "KZbin influencer" as you put it, but I am well educated and I do take care and concern with choosing my words and saying them correctly. AND... who cares if someone says thalled, life as we know it won't end because of it. There are way more important things to focus on. 😊
@sueluvs2cook
@sueluvs2cook Жыл бұрын
Well, I hope you don't say 'acrost', as in across the street.🤦🏻‍♀️ Good grief! Just bc people have a different 'accent', doesn't mean they're not educated!🤨 A little judgy, don't you think? Perhaps you heard wrong. Thawed, thalled, across, acrossed, maybe it was just you hearing incorrectly. Louise is a recipe creater, and a nurse and past owner of a nursing home among many other professions, so she is highly educated and continues to educate herself. She may be an influencer only because she shares her knowledge with everyone who wants it, and that influences those who do want her info, to become better cooks, who care less about whether they or she says their food is thawed or thalled. 🥰 Have a warm and happy day! 😁
