I just did my 2002 jaguar X type 22 years of ultraviolet damage, 1,000 automated car washes, stone chips, grit, road salt, road spray and grime and some occasional dump truck aggregate blow off. I needed to start off with 220 grit and work my way all the way to 3000 wet sand. Finished it off with Maguires plastic polish.When it was done, it looked almost brand new. These headlights with the fog lights six individual lamp lenses Hass to be the most difficult Restoration I could imagine.

This could be why you are getting such great results with and sound pretty excited about this Meguiar's Clear Plastic Polish #10: I noticed that the Meguiar's PlastX calls itself a "Clear Plastic Cleaner and Polish," and the back of the bottle lists Aluminum Oxide, which is an abrasive, as an ingredient. Meguiar's Clear Plastic Polish #10 does not list Aluminum Oxide, but does say, "If surface requires light restoration, precede with Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Cleaner #17. It sounds like the Clear Plastic Polish, being only a polish, will shine to a higher level than PlastX. The front of the bottle even claims to, Safely restore Optic Clarity to all clear plastics. Does the discontinued 3M Lens and Hard Plastic Cleaner also have an abrasive like Aluminum Oxide in the ingredients? Thanks for the great content!!!

congratulations, excellent work, incredible results, people would think that it is easier to buy new lights, I have a question what is the difference between the p500 and 500 sandpaper (without the p)
@theheadlightrestorationpro10 ай бұрын
The p is just a European scale of sandpaper it's much much finer quality and better granuates... In basic terms it's more of ballet versus football... So much that the discs actually don't equal each other you have to look up a conversion chart a 500 is equivalency is a much different disc than a p500.... This is why you will definitely see a price difference in each one harder to make the European style disc...

After watching so many of your great videos and doing about 5 practice repairs on my own car, and a few on some junkyard lights I ordered on ebay, I'm a little confused as to how you know, for instance that this particular light didn't have any clear coat left. Is it the way the light feels to the touch? Or do you sand a little spot first (to test to see if the powder is yellow)?

You must have done a lot of wrong... First and foremost you must not have followed the steps that I have shown on here over 130 times.... 130 flawless times.... Cuz it doesn't sound like it and honestly it could possibly be if that's the result you got.... Did you double coat did you spray too slow did you spray too much did you spray too far away to spray too close did you do all the other steps that I do beforehand to make sure your area was clean and sterilized did you do the exact thing that I do on every single video because if you did deer lights would have came out like mine.....👍🏽

I'd say it's about equal they both have about the same rating in my opinion they're both lacking just a little bit on one thing or other but definitely well over the threshold to be good enough to use... You have one that is lacking just a little tiny bit of oil content.. maybe you have one that is really loose and could be sicker...
@ShoeHefner7579 ай бұрын

@theheadlightrestorationpro9 ай бұрын
@ShoeHefner757 fear comes from not knowing which translate into inexperience which translates into haven't done enough practice... I'm not confident in doing it because I've done so many but because I've done so much practice.... Well maybe both but at first it was the practice that made me comfortable with doing this ... Practicing on non-paying customers and also personal vehicles and junkyard headlights that I've actually got for the junkyard or Facebook marketplace.. I probably sprayed two to three dozen lights like this before I had to paying customer...
