As someone that paints RC cars, which are made out of polycarbonate, you use polycarbonate paint on them. Nothing else. The polycarbonate paint infuses into the polycarbonate plastic, hence why it sticks so well. They don't need a "keyed" surface.

Nice videos keep it up! I wonder in this video, You used p500 then p800, p3000, polishing compound. Spray coat. I wonder if could use the plasticX as the compound before coating? And in the spraycoat package from meguiars includes a cleaner solution, in what step should be proper to use it because i see the pads that follow are quite abrasive. Or do you think that with your method there are no use of the cleaner solution because the oxidation are anyways removed by polishing in the first steps. Im attempting this myself because to many scammers and there are no one like you in sweden 😅. Thanks in advance!

Dang! Tesla! had that thought today.. I am in socal and every tesla seems to have clear headlights!. was just gonna ask you what's going on (model S came out in 2012!) I thought of this cause i there's an old S model out front that is starting to yellow on the top section. Never seen this before. was gonna ask what your method would be for tesla headlights. keep us posted sir!. p.s. saw that same permanent stress top damage on a 07 BMW 3 series. couldn't figure out what was but you just solved it for me! You're the best! 😇

Hi, I was just wondering about the headlight coating at the end . Do you need to mask up more of the car to stop it from getting on paint work ? Never used it before don't want to damage my paint ?

I have a question? My headlights definitely need restoration, a guy said he could do it for 60.00 dollars he will use his polishing tool to do it ! He showed me pictures of his work before and after, should I trust him to do this?he also said it would take about an hour to get it done.

had my first experience with a "damaged" deep dive scratched headlight. 3 p500s 3 p800s several trizak 3000s passes..had some self-doubt at times. Stayed the headlight pro's course and they came out beautiful. The owner told me afterward he tried a DIY with toothpaste, WD40, and green scratch pads.. jeeezusss no wonder I wasn't going anywhere fast.. what also helped me as a newbie see how I was doing at each step, i'd spray water and wipe the headlight..anything I missed or needed to hit again would be more visible. I even added a P1200 step.. again this just helped me see what damage needed attention.. Watch his videos!..Every question/experience I've encountered, he's been there and done that.. Dam he's good!😎

@5:40 there's no explanation/tag on screen but are you simply putting on another P800 disc? And why? Also I see no need to manually sand, the power sander will be doing far more work than by hand surely. In your list of items beneath the vid you also have links to a 3M P220 and P320, but these don't appear in the vid, are those just for really badly fogged/cloudy headlights?? Would be good if the whole process was explained at the start, ie start with P500, then P800 etc. Great vid though cheers

I did my 2000 Expedition about 3 years ago. I used a Turtle Wax kit to wet sand, then used carnauba wax to stop the uv and oxidation. Still look primo.

Dupli-Color® Headlight Restoration Kit is a two-can system that restores and protects faded headlight lenses. Over time, UV exposure from sunlight can cause oxidation and fogging of plastic headlight lenses, which can have a negative effect on their ability to emit light. This simple two-can system is designed to restore headlight clarity and provide a long lasting UV protective clear coat. The kit consists of a professional grade aerosol spray polish and an easy-to-use aerosol clear coat.

You should use a clear vinyl wrap instead of spraying....it helps with light refraction, lasts years longer, and makes future restorations easier since there is little oxidation. Worth the extra money. Ive been running one set of headlights for three years now and they still look new.

Bro, i just did my 08 TL. Took bout 1.5 hrs. As expected, its my 2nd time, but first time with your process. It came out awesome. However i messed up on two counts, i didnt tuck my tape in, and i didnt have a mini compressor to blow off after each step. Oh, make that 3, i added a 2nd layer of seal. I know u said only need one layer. Now i see why, theres slight textured now, smh. Atleast now i can visually picture the finish product after not making these 3 mistakes again, on the next set of lights. Thank you again. If your close by i would ask for your service just so i can show my gratitude. Stay Blessed Brother. 🙏🤟🤟
