Great question that I wish I had covered better in the video. Since Printify actually has no access to you eBay funds, you make a deposit with them to cover printing and shipping. Then, when the eBay funds are released, it all goes to you because you've already paid for everything.

All of mine have automatically been sent on to the printer. The only time it didn't work was when I had no money in my Printify account. Since Printify has no access to your eBay funds, you do have to pay for the things that sell. I had forgotten to reload the account. But, I caught it immediately. Other than that, it's been seamless.

I think you have to put your designs in exactly the way that you want them to appear. Printify works from a what-you-see-is-what-you-get production point unless otherwise stated. I hope that helps!

I don't have a separate one. But it's something I may look at for the future if it's needed. The most important thing to note is that they really are separate. EBay functions exactly the same. The biggest difference is that you have to put money into Printify to pay for the cost of production. Printify doesn't have any access at all to your eBay money. The eBay money goes to you. You pay Printify for the product

Every listing you create and publish through Printify to your eBay store will count towards your monthly totals. So, it could run you over your allotments. So, you'd have to look at the store levels to make sure you're going to be on target with the additional listings. I have my printify separated from my main store only because i use it to create videos from. It's helpful to me to have one account with a store subscription and one without. Does that answer the question?

I don't have Printify on my main account. I haven't ever had an issue because my Printify stuff is 100% my design. But, I keep my merch separated anyway. If you use a separate account, it's a good idea to open it and get a little feedback on it before you set up Printify

You can create return policies. That said, if a buyer claims that an item wasn't as described, they can get a return regardless of your policy.

I attached mine to an account that was fairly new. It isn't connected to my primary store because I use one for our business and the other as a teaching tool for eBay. I think it's best to follow Printify's directions to the letter. Make sure that all of your designs are truly yours. You don't want to lose your account over copyright stuff. :-)

If you have money in your Printify account to pay for the item, it's pretty passive. Everything is already set up to go. You still get the notice on eBay that it sold, so you can always check that everything was ready on the Printify end.

Regarding Ebay Store plans. The Starter Plan is not showing up for me (Ebay Canada). Only Basic, Premium and Anchor. I guess it must only be for the Ebay U.S. (and Basic is $20 per month CDN on a yearly plan)

As long as you are creating your own designs, I don't think it would matter where you created them. For example, I paid a friend of mine who is a graphic artist to make mine and used that. So, it's 100% mine. I think that's what can get you in a bind is using designs that don't entirely belong to you.

Yes. And if you don't have enough in your Printify account to buy whatever sold, you'll get an email from them to reload your account.

I know you have to list through Printify first. You can't make changes to the shipping options because it messes with their settings. Without seeing it first hand, it's hard for me to diagnose. That said, Printify is really easy to work with. You might try reaching out to them.

I can't see your screen, but you probably need to upload enough to Printify to pay for what sold. They don't have access to the money you earn on ebay. So, go to your Printify and see if it's needing enough money to pay for what you've sold.

You still have to have a return address. It just doesn't have to be your primary address. I use a PO Box.

@@javier3242 Not that I'm aware of. Remember, Printify doesn't have any financial transactions with eBay. So, eBay will come to you for a refund. Printify does allow returns for damaged items, but not for size. As everything they do is a custom print, returns are limited to defects. Still, you would want to to work with the customer and not try to send them to the Printify printer who made the item.

When an item sells, you'll get a message right away from Printify stating that you need to pay for the item. I preloaded my Printify account with a little bit so that there is no delay. Ebay sends no money to Printify. So, after fees, the rest of the money paid by the buyer to eBay will come to you. I hope that helps!

Your payouts from eBay are completely separate from any money on Printify. And, if you think about it, you wouldn't want Printify getting payments directly from you eBay account. So, you have to have enough money in Printify to pay for what sells. The eBay payments for transactions will still go directly into your account.

In theory I agree with you. I started flipping used motorcycle parts on Ebay back in 1999 or so. Then I added T-shirts that I made by hand with a vinyl cutter and heat press, and eventually discovered POD. about 2015 or so. Started with Printful, then discovered I like Printify better. Been doing that, in addition to Merch by Amazon. I prefer Ebay/Printify because I can make a larger margin than Amazon. BUT I have a huge re-occuring problem that no one warns you about: Ebay limits the number of listings/sales I can make each month. My limits currently are 36,000 items or $250,000 whichever comes first. Now that sounds like a lot, BUT when you upload a t-shirt, it's not one listing. Each and every possible variation of that listing becomes a separate listing in itself for the pupose of limits. I now have about 100 designs listed on t shirts, most are available in 5-6 colors (5-6 variations), each color is available in 6 sizes (5-6 X 6). Then you list how many of each you want to have available (ie, if you sell a large black shirt, and you only have 1 available, you now no longer have a large black in that design available for sale until you manually find that listing and renew the availability. Also, a customer cannot buy 2or 3 copies of teh same shirt if you only have 1 available) So now you have, for a single design, 6 colors X 6 sizes X 2 or 3, or 10 of each available. It is not uncommon to have a single design turn into 30 - 50 listings as it regards limits. (don't worry, they still only charge you for 1 listing, but you have taken a HUGE bite out o f your available listing limits. I have requested higher limits (which would probably be granted for "normal" merchandise) but because one design equals 1 sale of approx $20, and takes up to 20, 30, or 50 slots on the site, they have to look at the return on their "investment" of web space, and all request to increase have been denied to date. it's still definitely worth drop shipping POD on Ebay, but be aware that there are limits. My Merch by Amazon store currently has a imit of 1000 designs, but I'm limited to about 100 on Ebay. If anyone knows of a remedy for this, please let me and the other readers of this comment, know what it is. thanks for reading!

I just checked my merch account (the one for my Printify ChaChingKing stuff) and even that one no longer has any limits. It's had only a handful of sales because I really only use it to teach from. I wonder why eBay is limiting you and not a smaller account like my merch account?

I have a long standing (more than 12 months) 100% positive rating, with 1054 feedback, and an Above Standard rating. I used to have Top Rated status before I started doing POD (I was only flipping used motorcycle parts and had complete control of my ship times. The "more than 1 day" shipping in POD doesn't qualify). If you have any suggesdtions I'm open to hearing them. I would like to expand my Ebay POD. I prefer it to Amazon even.

The eBay account I have my Printify merch on does NOT have a store subscription. I uploaded enough to cover my orders directly to Printify. It only gets used as orders come in. You get paid from eBay just the same as you would whether or not you use Printify.

Printify is a possibility. It's easier if the account has some history. And, you need to make sure that the designs are all yours to avoid any issues.

If the buyer claims it wasn't as described, they will be refunded. eBay will also refund their fees to you. But, I highly doubt that the third party supplier will refund anything unless there was a problem with the product.

Yes, the Printify money doesn't take into account any eBay fees. You will need to allow for that. The margins are definitely smaller when you dropship an item, even when it's your own design. But, in return, you are free from storage and shipping.

Yes, the cost of the tshirts comes off as part of your cost of goods. I don't feel qualified to do a tax video. Notyourdadscpa is a CPA and a reseller. I recommend (and watch) him for tax info. I make profit on most of the items I pick up. I just make sure the sale price is high enough to cover my cost of goods, shipping, fees and profit. I don't make much of anything off my merch shirts. That really wasn't the goal for those. The goal was to have them available without losing any money.

I am using Printify on an eBay account that is personal and without a store subscription. Printify actually has something you can follow to help if you are banned for using it. Fyi on experience: if you have a shop which sells various NON printify items MIXED in, dont do it because what these creators Never tell you is connect means Control. Printify can mamipulate your inventory and screw up non printify stuff. Its in the tos. Example you have gelato and printful, printify changed my printful listings which pissed me off.

@@TheChaChingKing after that fiasco, I disconnected from printify. But I opened a separate eBay store with my designs NOT published but in my printify acct. If I get 10 orders then I manually buy 10 of those un published shirts in my Printify acct. Printify will NEVER run out of white t shirts lol. It's your design that counts.

The account I set this up on does not have a paid store subscription on eBay. You don't have to have that. :-)

I think I missed something. Let’s assume I did. Sometimes this early in the morning, my eyes just glaze over and I miss things. So where do people find these products? It is hooked up to your eBay store, do you have to make the listing on your eBay store, or does printify do that?

I think this is a completely fair question. Printify prepares the listing for your eBay store. So, people will find it on eBay.

I don't pay for an ebay store on that account. I didn't upload any money to Printify until I sold something. Now, you will have to pay Printify for the item before they'll print it. So, you will have to pay upfront for that.

It literally depends on what you're selling and how much you can ask for it. I set the price to my merch just above the break even point. I probably don't make but 10% or so. But, that was intentional. I don't want my viewers to feel obligated to buy anything from me. If you develop a desirable design, you could set the price point to where you could make as much as 25% or 30%. The idea being that you would set the price as high as the market will bear. Your Printify costs are static. the eBay fees vary based on the realized price. But you have a lot of control over what you ask for your products.

All of the eBay payments will go directly to you (after eBay fees). Printify has no direct contact with the flow of money through eBay. You pay them directly for the products being made and shipped.

On my merch? Almost none. I don't even tell anyone I'm selling it. I usually give away my t-shirts and stuff. I've probably sold a handful of shirts in the last 6 months and given away over 300. If you wanted to sell more, you'd either need to market them or keep creating designs. I have one design that I don't market. LOL

I used my KZbin logo as an example because I didn't have to worry about any copyright stuff. BUT, I don't advertise the eBay store with my merch because I'm trying to help people looking for extra income. They don't need to buy stuff from me. But, I guess it also serves as an example that you can't just make a design and expect to rake in the cash. It still takes work.

Beginner dropshippers make a lot of common mistakes when starting dropshipping... Some of them are- -They don’t have basic skills creating websites, uploading products, knowing how shipping works, etc. -They think that it’s get rich quick -They try to drop ship from china/alibaba -They jump on monthly trends -They think ads will bring sales -They try to sell saturated products -They try to sell products with no profit margin Avoid these traps and you will be ahead of the curve!
