Startech is too expensive unfortunately....for my budget...back to wired :( I would probably mess it up anyway so maybe thats a good thing

$300 on Amazon. Jesus, for this price, I can buy a new printer that has network printing built in. Or a little elbow grease will get a Raspberry Pi into doing the same thing for much less.

The analog - would be (as you suggested with Raspberry Pi) to set up a dedicated computer as a server. Wifi printer won't have the same capabilities.

if ever you see something on Amazon for way more than it usually sells for it's possibly because it's out of stock at Amazon and you're seeing a price from a third party seller, and some third party sellers seem to price stuff so they're a last resort. startech stuff is expensive, but it's not that expensive.
