My gosh. To take a pile of rubble and organize it into something so beautiful as this wall is totally amazing. What an artist! 👍👍👍

I always have you on one of the many monitors going. It relaxes me. Makes me feel like I am getting something done :) You are a true old school craftsman. 100F here in Yuma at 10PM. So all that green and rain looks good to me. I had a hard time working with others. I respect you working alone. It takes as much work to get a helper, pick them up , get them to work, feed them, can not work after they eat.. then get them home. Like being a babysitter. . Then get them to do that 2 days in a row. I just did it myself as I got older. Better I make that money I am paying them. Slower, but better, with less worries

what's the thinking for when its OK to balance on a little shim rock versus back-filling it with some cement? what would have been used traditionally to fill?

If it’s a dry stone then stone. This one was just filled with cement, hence the lack of stone.

Always love your videos and learn a lot!! One question I have is how do you decide whether to use lime mortar or cement mortar for a job? Today you're using cement mortar, sometimes you use lime mortar, and I'm a little confused why...

Thank you for watching! It comes down to price, style, timing and to be honest I get told a lot of the time what to use especially when I sub-contract. I always advise but like I say, it’s down to many different factors.

@@J.HarveyStoneworkWhat do you think, which solution is better to make, cement or lime?

Always lime with any stonework. Hot lime is meant to be best.
