Well were 2 months in, and it's going lol. Luckily she is cute, but her hair looks like a fuzz ball at the roots. Also, I havent put any products in her hair, and for the first time it is retaining moisture and feels super soft, so I think it was a good choice. Her hair shrunk up to her shoulders, but overall she enjoys it and that's all that matters

For those thinking of doing this, especially with locs of this size, I would recommend a “brick” pattern so the end result lays with more coverage and fills gap between rows of locs. The locs have a stacked appearance, if that makes sense.

Melzina Hawkins it’s not a hold like eco gel but when I use it I get a nice silky hold and I have type 4 hair and my locs now are about 6 inches long. It doesn’t flake either. You can also pair it with all natural Shea butter and grease scalp with olive oil or castor oil/ coconut oil.

The banks' family you can definitely comb locs out. I know from experience and she says her daughter loves her locs. But I get what you’re saying.

So glad I found this video. I started my daughter's locs a month ago (two strand twist) but didn't know about the "crochet hook part" this will be so helpful when I start mines

I just did a similar video on my son ! His locs were started with Jamaican mango and lime and I was gonna try jam on it but I am not tryna add anymore product buildup to his hair so I have started doing his hair myself (still learning) but I’ve been retwisting him with rosewater and vitamin e only !! It holds beautifully ! Just as good as any holding product in my opinion .. check it out 🤷🏽♀️
