Starter Replacement On 94-01 Dodge Ram 1500

In this, I go over the starter replacement on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9 360 V8 Magnum
This is a starter install on a 2nd gen Dodge Ram 1500 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 with the 5.9 V8 engine.

What about the bolt holding the connector on the top? I can't seem to get that one off.

It was a bit of a pain until I figured out to put the socket on the bolt first then attach the extension piece and wrench to the socket after. After that is was cake

Yes! Just make sure you have the right tools (Socket wrench with a 16mm and 19mm socket, and extension). Also be sure to disconnect your battery prior to removing your old starter. This is the best repair job to get you into working on your truck so have fun!

And if your bolts are stuck better whip out the reciprocating saw to cut the cooling lines so you can get a torque drill up in there.
