You have to slow down going up that trailer. You aren't jumping it, and those ramps are really steep. Nice and slow next time with the ATV in 4x4 and low range.

Did you ever figure out a way to adjust the plow without getting off of the ATV? I plow residential driveways over in Midlothian va and have been trying to figure out how to do it for a few years now. Trying to figure something out for this year.

I have been clearing snow for 16 years around several properties here in Denmark, but have never used an ATV to do the tasks, but I consider it a lot. I was almost certain that an ATV couldn't push much snow, but have now watched many videos and it seems to work

Hey what kind of salt do you use I’ve learned that if you use pet safe salt it works out for the home owner cuz it gets rid of the salt but also if a person with a dog walks by it won’t hurt the dogs feet

I’ve got some advice for you, you are doing a fantastic job but when you come up to the snow back start to raise your plow so it will ramp it, so when you don’t ramp it the snow back will freeze rock solid then you can pile the other snow from other snowfalls on it

Fun fact: Polaris says that all their Sportsman ATV's from the 450 all the way up to the 1000 will plow the same amount of snow. Once the ATV size reaches the 450 it's not loner about how much power the ATV has, it's a matter of traction, and their testing showed that on cold freshly plowed pavement, the 450 - 1000 all have almost identical traction amounts.

Very interesting! So by that logic mine should theoretically be able to push as much snow as a 1000. I may have to test that out! I always thought it was odd that atvs now come with engines up to 1000. When mine was produced, im pretty sure 500 was the biggest there was.

@HMartinFilms

Thanks! The pricing ranges based on a number of things. Obviously the size of the area cleared is a big factor but also whether or not they want walkway clearing and/or ice treatment and how big those areas are. And then I have different pricing tiers for 2-6”, 6-12”, and 12+”. I might make a video breaking all this down but all this is to say it ranges and varies by snowfall from 55 for the smallest to 150 on an average snow event.

Good that you didn't get a lot of snow there, but I think your 500 could manage a lot more than only a few inches with wet snow. I had my 520 struggle a lot with more than a feet wet snow, but it's just fun

Unless you have a long, narrow driveway, typically a blower is more effective. If the snow is deep and heavy, the ATV will struggle.
