Starting my 6 month mini braid challenge! Will you join me??

Beautiful results. 💕 I'm not a mini-braid girl but I've recently done 7 months of mini-twists. Hair really grows when you leave it alone. The back half of my hair is at WL now. The front half of my hair grows the slowless so it's going to take some time to get up with the rest. It's at APL/BSL now.

Hi Kali, you inspire me sooo much! I've actually had my hair in mini braids, even smaller than this, since January. I commented on one of your videos in June, where you gave me the idea to do a braid out on my mini braids, and I loved it! I love the clean parts too and, since my hair has grown so long (about arm pit to bra strap length), my touch ups are very time consuming! I want to take the current braids out, but don't want to deal with my loose hair. I am going to redo my braids, the size that you've done here, and do twist towards the end. Thanks so much for posting!

Mini braids are my new favorite protective style too! Although, I cannot do 6 months lol. The most I can do is 3 months before I need to wash my hair. But soooo pretty! I have some in now that are so raggedly lol, but the convenience of having them makes me not want to take them out lol 😂😂😂

I think she’s redoing the braids every now and then to keep them fresh, not literally keeping the same set for 6 months :)

You can wash your hair and condition them in the mini braids. Just refresh a couple braids at a time so you won’t have to redo your entire head at once. Some of the braids may not be overgrown as the others. It saves so much time! I hope that was helpful ❤

Wow this is nice and your hair has actually grown longer . Funny thing is am actually unplaiting my mini braids right now after 5 weeks 😂 . I used to moisturize frequently and they became frizzy really fast so I would suggest not minimal moisturization to keep them longer .

Oh I didn’t think about that! Thank you! In the future, I’ll try it out and refrain from moisturizing them when they are fresh to make them last longer. I’ll just do the ends ❤

We have the same hair grease! And the size of your braids are perfect, how many do you have? The last time I did mine I had about 82, which is a bit much, it kept me from taking them down too early which is a plus but I think this size will actually be better

I believe I have about 95 braids. It’s a lot but I am loving this size! It does help me keep them in longer lol 😂

I have a new idea, I’m gonna curl the ends with perm rods when I get ‘bored’ with them, and when I get really really bored, I’ll add beads to stretch the style for another 2-4 weeks

For me, Mini Braids are way better. They last a lot longer, less frizz and I believe the hair is better protected.
