Oh my goodness! So much to take in! First, SO MANY lovely spaces to grow, experiment, learn! So dreamy. Second, many lovely plants in place and to come. Example, that was a huge lemon. And I recognized that radish flower because I had the same volunteer in my garden last year! Third, I empathize with your soil amending situation. I'm three years in to my soil transformation effort and it has been an incredible amount of labor and resources input, relative to my tiny budget. This journey of yours will be an adventure and I look forward to the glimpses you will share with us. Green love to you & fam! 💚🫶🏾

Thanks so much for your support and these kind words! I will be focusing on raised bed first to grow food, as you say transforming a soil is long term project and hard work! Green Love back at you!

@@thefrenchiegardener Yes! I decided on raised beds for my veg as well (I found the soil here is contaminated with debris unfortunately). But that was my 2nd phase. First phase was my effort to amend the soil around my house in a narrow perimeter band, about 2 feet wide, because I was shocked to find no insect life I could see. Not even ants! Reintroduction of biodiversity was/is really important to me. So year 1 was amending and planting up that narrow perimeter strip and growing as much veg as I could in containers. Bit by bit, I amend a little more and see more life every year. And now I have many critters that visit and feel welcome in my "urban garden." Such joy. And the adventure/labor of love continues! (No worries about responding; just thought I'd add more info!)

@@ofrecentvintage So cool! Polluted soils take for sure lots of time & effort. But such a nice project, kudos to you for bringing back life!

Bonne chance with your new garden project! I’ll make sure to follow the progress🙂 I have a new garden as well, and Ailanthus will probably be my nemesis here, it’s sprouting all over one corner of the yard…

I'm really glad I found your channel. I've only watched half a dozen videos and you've given me so many ideas! I'm a complete beginner, growing veg, herbs, and flowers on a large balcony just South of London. The wind and cold are my biggest problems atm, but no shortage of rain 😅 All of my seedlings are currently very happy indoors, and I'm here to find out how to make them happy outside in the near future. Thanks for the great content 👍

So you're only living there for 3 months ? Isn't this period of time a little bit too short for this project ? Genuinely curious, I know if I was in your situation I wouldn't have started anything if I was staying there for 3 months only. Wonderful garden though ! Good luck !
@thefrenchiegardener8 ай бұрын
I'm super happy to build everything and leave a flourishing garden which will please many people. In 3 months you can still grow a lot especially with the Sicilian weather. Hope you will enjoy the transformation.
