The fact that you willingly show when you don’t perfectly knit a stitch and have to redo it once or twice is very comforting. Maybe I don’t suck as much as I thought!! Thanks for being an actual person and acknowledging that mistakes happen.

Rhen, you definitely don't suck! I always feel that mistakes are an opportunity to correct and learn from! ❤️

I particularly appreciate when you said that it is very easy to forget to swap threads - and that you have done that many times - really helps that you ‘normalise’ making mistakes. So uplifting and encouraging when I’m in the middle of making those mistakes too. Thank you Suzanne.

I don't think I blinked once during this video. I won't be able to start Kolam now which won't stop me from having fun practicing. Thank you Suzanne

Fascinating tutorial. Now I just have to try calling without cable needles. The comments to your tutorials are as interesting as the videos. For example I was wondering about starting the cable color in the prior row, as well. I'll be interested to learn how it works two rows down. (No pressure on the commenter who's testing that, lol!)

Excellent tutorial Suzanne, I have done one of your pillow patterns as a Christmas gift for one of my daughter=in-laws. I wasn't able to get the intarsia part , but with this tutorial I get it! Thank you

This is excellent Suzanne!! So appreciate your tutorials, and the cable with 2 colors is going to be my next cable project, I have never tried it! I also love the Chiaogoo needles as well, the lace ones are nice and pointy. Thank you ever so much for this....once you had shown the central double increase stitches....voila.... you can see how that entire cable will progress. Thank you again!

So clear to understand. Thank you. I’m in your Bootcamp 1.4 but want to challenge myself with this too. May not make the pillow at the moment but have made a few swatches of these cables already. Now to improve my tension … 😬 Awesome video!!!!

i originally wanted to ask about the stitch 9 at row 4 (starting at 9:30) - why it is a purl when the symbol in the chart says it is to be a knit, but then i tried it and checked the right side of the work and understood that there would be a bump in the wrong color on the right side if it were a knit on the wrong side :)

I love "Aha" moments, well done Katarina! And thanks so much for watching and for the feedback! ❤️

For the second colour, have you tried adding it in the row prior -- so the new stitches are made into it, and would it make the finished piece look more complete? Or, would it make it look like a peak instead. Hmmmm.
@SuzanneBryan3 жыл бұрын
Give it a try and let me know what you think. I am always experimenting with stuff like this. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@katarinakopunekova3 жыл бұрын
I tried to add the color in the prior row (wrong side) but the crossing strands don't look good on the right side and are making the cable look ugly. i'm now trying to add the color two rows prior (on the right side) so the strands of yarn won't influence the look of the cable. don't know the result yet. fingers crossed :)

@@katarinakopunekova Very cool. Are you in my Ravelry group? If so, can you post pictures of your results in that group and talk about your process. I think this is very engaging and I would like to see what other people are doing.

Hi Suzanne. Fascinating video! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cable mid fabric before. It looks so pretty! Do you make bobbins for the two strands of the contrasting color? I love my ChiaoGoo’s red lace but the Hiya Hiya Sharps are just too sharp for me. The regular Hiya Hiya are too sharp for me, lol. Otherwise they are nice needles. I love my Addi lace as well and my Addi Turbo. If I don’t need a sharp tip I go for the Addi. Thanks for another great tutorial! Much appreciated!💞
@SuzanneBryan3 жыл бұрын
You can make bobbins if you want. I don’t because I find them more fiddly than just pulling the yarn through every once in awhile. It is personal preference.

Hi, i know i'm very late, but can this colour changeing be used in a jumper? My son wants a cabled one with coloured cables. I can cable, but i'm not very familliar with how some of the patterns are worded/charted. I want to attempt the project, but am very nervous.

Julie, sometimes it is scary to try new techniques, but I'm sure with some practice you can achieve anything. I'm adding some video suggestions to help you and I would also encourage you to join my Facebook group (same name); it is filled with supportive knitters at every level and we love helping! 😊 Here is a video on reading cable charts, kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHixlKedd86Yq5o and these two videos are about adding color to cables using intarsia, kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIDPXqGlZrt4l6s kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpqchXajh79pfsk
