Struggles with mental health have long been stigmatised in the Caribbean and have led to the region having some of the highest suicide rates globally. Our Ambassador, David Johnson, is breaking down the mental health taboo through his organisation Let’s Unpack It.
Founded in 2020, Let’s Unpack It began as an Instagram page that gave young people a safe space to unpack their lived mental health experiences. Since then, it has transformed into a youth-led, youth-focused, leading NGO in pivoting how mental health is viewed in the Caribbean.
