Love your Saab content man, great to see these getting the love they deserve! I’ve got an ‘85 900 turbo in need of the same as your red one…
@britishswedishresto95773 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! The 900 Turbo is cool, especially an early one like yours. Definitely worth saving like all of them! And a bit quicker than my 1990 900SE

@@britishswedishresto9577 yeah I love the flat fronts, just that bit more reminiscent of the 99 turbos. Haha maybe just once it gets over that turbo lag… think I saw your 900 on Instagram, looks nice!

Ah cheers! Biggest performance (and cruising) issue with my 900 is the gearbox. It's an auto.. But I love it

I had a white1976 99 turbo LHD in Germany when I was in the forces. Drove it to what was then Yugoslavia in 1978 and '79. Definitely the best and most comfortable car I have ever owned and I had another 7 SAABs after that one. I wish I could buy a set of those aero wheels nowadays.

Great vids on the red 99T but this was awesome on getting the white 99T going. My 1980 900T had been asleep 30 years when I got it going and went through a similar routine of prestart checks (not as good as yours as I overlooked the water pump) and had an identical issue with it starting for a second and dying - it went on ages. You were luckier with the water pump than I was as the seal on mine was done for. Hope the turbo wastegate is good - another hens teeth item I struggled with. Noticed in the background of the vid that you've got a spare set of green front seats. I've been looking for maybe 2-3 years now for a seat for my also very green interior and the bases are identical and my drivers seat base is worn thread bare. I can't see any way of repairing it and keeping the car looking original so if you're interested in selling a spare seat or two I would be well interested in buying them off you - help fund your resto as I'm thoughtful like that :)

@@britishswedishresto9577 I've got a 1985 Saab 90, it stood in a yard for nearly 25 years, so i towed it home and cleaned the carburetor, sure enough it started. It has got many issues though, mainly some mysterious finds of oil on spark plugs, every gasket has dried out and lots of rust, and fixing it has helped me a lot from watching your welding videos too!
@britishswedishresto95773 жыл бұрын
Ah wow! I think I just found you on Instagram, is it a silver one? Great to hear you're saving a 90, as they're super rare over here now. Hope it all goes well!

Can I ask you how you unseized the fuel pump? Another small question: did you undo the injectors after several attempts to let any possible air out? Or what was that for? Thanks!
@dashiznit89 Жыл бұрын
I need to buy a set of those upgraded fuel lines. I made my own but I like the saabbits fuel lines better. I also redid the fuel pump power supply on my 99.

Well done in getting it started! What are your plans with this car exactly?
@britishswedishresto95773 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I plan to fix the bits of rust it has, put the correct bonnet on (currently has a Saab 90 bonnet with indentation for a badge), re-paint the tailgate, put a more standard looking exhaust on and generally get her back to standard. However I want to keep it looking like it's had a life in Australia. So I won't repaint it, and I may keep the faded interior. Then once it's registered I'll just use it whenever I can! Weather and salt permitting of course.
