I started slow stitching during lockdowns we had it was something to do and relaxing. It really helped me through my wonderful husband health issues and after his passing. Sixty three years together he had always encouraged me in my crafting from oil painting commissions to sewing. All you need is fabric needle and thread. Then just sew where the needle may take you. You will be hooked.😊

Gi, if you use Safety Pins to secure the fabric pieces, no more pricked fingers. As well you can try a double sided iron on interfacing. Cover the main piece of fabric with interfacing and iron it on. Remove the top paper. As you add scrap pieces, iron them on and then stitch. The cover will be a bit thicker, but only slightly if a light weight interfacing is used. I noticed you had a lot of issues with thread. Rule of thumb … always thread the needle with the cut end of the spool. 😊

K3N, Marion’s World, Roxy’s journal of stitchery are another great ones to watch. Have fun slow stitching. I have been crazy quilting, learning embroidery stitches & other stitches. I have so many journals, I needed to find a new craft that I had not done before. Have fun 😻🌻🌼

Beautiful project 💖I usually use a glue stick to keep them down while I’m sewing because pins drive me crazy😅another suggestion would be to keep them put by adding a layer of very thin tule on top and running it through the sewing machine to secure in place then going on top with embroidery. Hope this helps🌹thx for sharing 😊

I love your arrangement/placement of fabric. Great job. I just started my first one. It is the size of a cuff but think I will make it a needle book.

For many years I have used a product called stitch witchery. It comes in strips on a roll. You put pieces under what you want to hold in place while you sew. You iron it in place. Quilters out there might be shaking their heads or screaming no. lol. If that was too stiff, maybe dots of glue? Those pins would be driving me crazy. We need a quilter to call. lol. This will be lovely! Hugs, treen 💕💕💕

Love the slow stitching covers you made and this one. I will add that I run my thread through beeswax, this helps the thread to tangle less. Love the color combinations you come up with. Love the idea of this being a reusable "book cover" with inside sleeves.😊

Hi Gi. I didn''t even know what slow stitching was until this video. I had heard of it but simply thought that it was plain old hand sewing. So, I looked it up. I think I'l try it because I could use something relaxing. The only KZbinr who I've seen do this is Rachel from Roxy Creations. I'm sure there are many others but I know she has a lot of video's on it. Good luck. Your's looks like it's off to a beautiful start. ❤

I love your colors. It looks like you have a very nice start for your slow stitch project. Jeanette from "Mi Cottage Crafts" does gorgeous work. You will love her style. "Marion's World" is a good channel, and Rachel and Sarah of the "Roxy's Creations" also very good for learning slow stitch. I just found your channel with the snippet spools and very much enjoyed it. Enjoy your slow stitch journey. It is so much fun! Thank you for sharing your experience.

I love the different materials you have Gi. I don't have nearly as much to make one of these. But I have enjoyed watching you put it altogether!! Thank you! I remember my mother sewing this kind of thing, but she called it "hand sewing" and she made quilts and sewed them also on her sewing machine.

Hi, been following you here and FB for years but don't often participate. I've been making sewing book kits and I really like "Sewing for fun" and of course Rachel at Roxeycreations, especially for slow stitches, but we are late on the band wagon as Rachel and family have been doing these types of things for about 5 years. I search "fabric scraps" and there's loads to choose from. Hugs Joy😊

Hello Gi, this is looking lovely. I'm no expert seamstress either, but we all have to start somewhere. That's how we learn things. Don't know if you saw my comment on previous video about what could be used for a needle threader, especially for tiny thin beading needles, But I'm happy you have something to help you with that on its way. I pray that you, Andy and Jesse are all doing well. Thanks for sharing your time, talents and inspirations. I enjoy your company (so to speak) even many many miles away, takes my mind off other things. Thanks for everything you do. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
