Yes, an old 6 inline cylinder diesel VOLKSWAGEN engine.

Heater blower, horn, wipers and probably a few more things are wired via the ignition key. If memory serves there are two wires that should go hot in the run position. On one of my 940s, every so often I have to turn the key carefully back to just before where the car would turn off and heater, horn, wipers etc start working. Play / looseness in the ignition lock.

@@herrapingviini2024 VW D24 straight 6 engine only can develop head issues, if is pushed hard when engine is cold. If owner wait that engine heat up (like it should be) slowly and with gentle driving until warming up ! Than it will never ever develop Head crack issue. D 24 is Bulletproof engine, and it is a 6 cyl version of 1.6 (4 Cyl engine) from VW Golf 1 & 2 !

У брата во дворе Мерседес 508D стоял без движения больше пяти лет. Недавно покупатель появился, завели дизеля с двух оборотов от дохлых 45Ач аккумуляторов... И работает как часики. А из неисправностей только манжета цилиндра сцепления порвалась. Заменили и уехал пепелац работать...

Hi from uk mate👋👍 another good start from the swedes 👌 gojn back few year me dad gad 244 saloon and 340 both great cars he called the red 244 " sherman "" for obvious reasons and blue 340 called "" the volevo "" lol proper comfy I remember they had 2 knobs on vertical bit of seat (backrest) to loosen an tighten springs in seat for comfort 👌 thanks for your time be safe and see you soon 👍 👋

The moment that cam belt cover, cam cover and oil fill cap came into sight I know it was VW. Funny how some design cues just are so identifiable, I've never worked on one of these engines though the VW 5 cylinders are very familiar to me. It really does sound like the 1.6d engine with extra cylinders too. Great, thank you for sharing this.
