Cool video, I enjoy seeing plain old farmwork and hearing little details about it you'd never find out unless you got into farming yourself. I knew driving over the straw was kind of bad, but not exactly why, so thank you for that little explanation! Keep up making videos like this!

As with internet, you should really look at getting a Portable 3G/4G Router (Amazon for £70). Plus a Three unlimited sim (£26 a month). I'm out in the sticks and does wonders for my download/upload speed. Would help your uploading majorly, probably even bring it down to 1 hour or less if you had it placed in a high signal spot!

Underground cheers! I’ll look into that 👍

Top video again Andy, I jokingly said to a farmer last Thursday, "if you want some rain pull the Combine out of the shed" The very next day it rained lol. Seen a few fields that have been cleared around here but I've yet to see my first Combine on my travels, weather being good tho I should see one next week as the farm i go to is planning on starting the Barley. I'm glad your channel is growing in subscribers I did notice you had jumped from around 500 to not far off 700 in a week so that's good hopefully it'l pick up momentum now. keep it up m8 and stay safe in this busy period and weather.

What's the combine tank hold in tonne's?
@Itsafarminglifeforme6 жыл бұрын
Hi Robert Higgins it’s measured in litres and I think it holds 11,000L but I would guess full up would be between 5 and 6 tonne of barley 👍
@handsomebazza6 жыл бұрын

Just a tip from a combine operator of 35 summers. At 11.36 you mentioned you were doing 4.0/4.5 kph. And if you went faster you'd lose more, and quite right,but bare in mind if you moved up to say 6.0kph you'd have to redo your settings as the extra speed and crop flow send your old settings right out the window... Up to say 6.0kph you'd need to open up your sieves and up the fan speed to accommodate the extra crop flow. If it's a fit,ripe crop then you'll prob not need to adjust either concave opening or drum/rotor speed, but who knows you might have too.. Most drivers dont realise the minute you EITHER slow up or speed up. Your current settings go right out the window.. hope this is of some help.

Can you get a augar extension to tractor dont run so close
@Itsafarminglifeforme6 жыл бұрын
Hi tomthumb yes we could get a extension but it means the tractor would have to run a tyre on the straw. The extension would work if I had a 35ft header. 👍

Great videos and always interesting to see what people are up to elsewhere in the country, we're yet to start our rape (no barely) maybe end of this coming week, wheat long way off being fit - no rain in over a month so expectations low. Exmoor, Somerset.
