Seventeen is a group that genuinely feel like a family. They trained together since they were kids and they have such good chemistry. I highly recommend the variety series Going Seventeen! It’s by far my favourite kpop series, they do a variety of content like escape rooms, haunted houses, mafia, drinking etc. It’s so popular that even non-carats and families watch it regularly

The one with the beautiful smile is DK (Dokyeom) 😊 He's one of the two main vocals and honestly underrated when it comes to kpop vocalists. He's also sweet and extra and one of my three biases lol. I think most Carats end up with multiple biases because it's just too hard to narrow to one, so no rush on trying to pick! They were 16-19 when they debuted, so not like Taemin-young, but still young! You asked if SVT and BTS were close - Jungkook and Mingyu (the tall handsome puppy, and yes, he is one of the team visuals) are particularly good friends but JK's friendly with SVT's other 97 liners, as well (DK and The8/Minghao, who you'll meet in part 3). Oh, I also wanted to mention - they work with professional choreographers on their full group pieces, but members (usually Hoshi, sometimes Dino) are generally involved in the process, as well. And yes, dance practices are mandatory for SVT imo!

One minor correction (?) for the guide, it's a very commonly spread misinformation that still plagues the fandom nearly 7 years after their debut. The whole "Seventeen was supposed to debut with 17 members" or "They used to have 17 members but some left before debut" isn't entirely true. The thing is, during the entire pre-debut period of Seventeen, there never was a period of time where they had 17 members. The line up changed several times. They were called "Seventeen" from the start, they were first shown as a predebut group late 2012 when they had 11 members and they had a livestreamed shows called 17TV where they showed the members in their day to day life in the practice rooms. Throughout the years on 17TV, we saw more guys join and some leave, but again, the line up never had 17 guys at once. It was believed Pledis may have planned a 17 membered group with members from 3 nations at the very early stages of formation but it was likely scrapped early on since they never bothered to add more guys to the group when they did have other male trainees at the time. Anyways, coincidently in the end, a total of 17 guys were part of the line up at some point but they came and left at different times, but this is probably why this wrong piece of information has been going around for so long.

oh my god you said so many interesting things about the members and you guessed some things correct! • s.coups is the general leader of seventeen as a whole and also for the hip hop unit- he’s the youngest in his family so him acting like a baby is from his family dynamics lmao, he has said that he had a hard time fitting into the “strong leader” stereotype because he’s never been the oldest before and was used to being treated like the maknae (which is what he would be if he debuted in N’uest!) also, fun side note; suho is my exo bias and coups is my ult bias and I can definitely see similarities! • yes, mingyu is indeed very clumsy- you called it! he’s also very close with coups (like you said, he’s a very caring and protective person and those tend to get along well with the leaders) and coups has even said that mingyu was the first person who noticed him going through a tough time at a concert and eventually ended up taking a mental health hiatus. they’re definitely close friends and complement each other well! mingyu is a “natural” leader and one of the oldest in the dongsaeng line (97-liner) and tends to take charge and other members naturally follow him. he’s a sweetie, you’ll probably love him lmao • vernon is definitely the most meme-able, I’ve never seen an idol less interested in the “idol life” or “idol personas” and he just does his own thing. he’s insanely intelligent and well-mannered and all in all just an amazing dude. • the other person you kept noticing is dk (real name: lee seokmin) and is one of the main vocals- you’ll learn more about him in the vocal team video! he’s the human definition of a ray of sunshine and is probably the sweetest guy to have ever graced this earth. • also fun side note: yes, they produce and choreograph everything themselves (with some help from the pledis team) and all members have songwriting or composing credits. seventeen is “famous” for their dancing and synchronization but honestly they have some of the best vocalists in kpop as well- chen has even said that seungkwan (the other main vocalist of seventeen) is probably his favorite vocal in kpop and talked about how insanely talented he is (which he is- seungkwan is self taught and their vocal coach at pledis has said that she basically had nothing to teach him). thank you for reacting to the boys- I promise that you’re gonna slip into the diamond life quicker than you think. enjoy this series!

Just a little heads up: the majority of carats don’t have just one bias, it’s usually a bias line consisting of 3 or 4 members, or even more ~ so basically, don’t be too stressed to choose just one fave member by the end of this, they’re a big group after all and a guide is just the beginning

17 project is actually really good to watch! It’s their pre- debut reality show, but it was NOT a survival show. The line-up was set, but they were given different missions and challenges to help prepare them for after debut. It was a basically just a televised show to help gather some attention before debut. The emotional scene they showed was when they brought their parents to surprise and encourage them before debut. They had all been working so hard and most hadn’t seen their parents in a while. It’s literally the most wholesome show and it’s really helps you learn the group. It’s all about them getting some experience on stage and in front of cameras and on a music video set and about building teamwork leading up to debut

And for over a year I've been locked onto them. They have a lot, A LOT, of content and all their content is top notch. You can't go wrong with Seventeen. They're always fun.

I'll try to answer some of your questions here: - If I'm not wrong, Seventeen Project is on KZbin, I haven't seen any reactions but maybe is save to put it here. - When they debuted, the oldest was 19 years old and the youngest was 15/16 years old, they predebut content is when they were all underage. _ TMI: only 3 members have dance background (Hoshi, The8 and Dino) and all of them are part of the performance team, the rest learned/started to dance during their trainee period. Also, when they prepare for a comeback, they contact teachers of different dancing styles to teach them more to do a better performance. For example, for Don't wanna cry, they learned a little of ballet and contemporary dance 14:40 - Just to explain a little more about the 'self-produced': as you saw, they do a lot of things, not only music related. Since predebut they have been doing everything, Mingyu even designed some stickers to promote themselves on the streets, Seungkwan called broadcasting programs to get a chance for them, Woozi and Bumzu (their producer) made all of the tracks for their debut album and Woozi had to fight with the company for them to debut with 'ADORE U'. - Shining Diamond is the best example of they selfproducing process, that song was 'the final test' for them to debut, Hoshi made all the choreography (along with the performance tema) and Woozi produced the track, the lyrics were made by Woozi, Wonwoo and Vernon (If I'm not wrong) they choosed the concept and practiced alone. - 44:21 I'm not sure if there is Bongbong products :( - Yes, they love to expose and diss each other every chance they have, they're crazy lol - All the members are really close, they have been together for around 10 years. - Now they live in 3 different floors and each member have their room. - S. Coups is really competitive, but all of them are. - Wonwoo is pronounced as Wonu, with S. Coups I'm not sure, I call him Cheol or Seungcheol hehe. - Mingyu's video is from 'Hit the Road' (youtube) there's one episode per member and is really emotional. The music video is 'Snap Shot' it was a gift for Carats. - There is no many solo stans since any member have debuted (officially) as a soloist, but they have solo content and name for their 'solo fandom' (but is used to tell which member is our bias) I don't remember all of them now. And YESSSS, NU'EST ONLY HAVE BOPS 😩, I highly recommend them, they debuted in 2012 and the members are 93 and 95 liners (4/5 are born in 1995)

oooh ok i think this guide is not that updated, bc iirc mingyu and wonwoo share an apt unit now, but everything else still applies oh and i'd say they take part in creating the choreo since they have choreographers that help them as well, they dont do everything themselves by themselves,,, but ye they do take part in their own songs' choreography, plus i think theres a handful of songs that are all choreographed by themselves, but im not so sure for mingyu, yes he is clumsy, but he dances really well, all in svt can dance pretty well i'd say,,, no one's a clumsy dancer and as for that man you're asking about, he's dk! but im sure you already know who he is by now

- Nu'est is debut in the same year as EXO - Seventeen members and BTS members are quite close to each other but we have no idea now since both of them are extremely busy - we understands ur confusion over Hoshi and Woozi bcs they both kinda hv monolid, type of face but once, and nowadays even members that hv different features also becomes similar i dont know how maybe bcs they're living together for a looong time - for main, lead position, actually hip hop unit doesn't mind it that much bcs all of them hv different roles in their songs - wonwoo have quite loyal old fans since debut - wonwoo loved gaming until he realised it wasnt good for him, and decided to change his hobby, more reading books, and exercise - wonwoo's indeed the tiniest when they sit down, like his body sink down - Seventeen given title as self produced idol by korean, probably the first idol with that title and since they're known as that, other groups company started to more brave to push their group to produce their own music. But what makes seventeen different for other group is the fact that they contibuted a lot like A LOT on their producing process. They created their own logo, stickers and spreaded it on the street during predebut to promote themself, mingyu created fandom mascot named BONGBONG, they decided the concert setlist including the outfits that would suit the concept, the created their own choreos with the help of lots of dance crew according to each concept, woozi is one of the youngest idol composer with 100+ songs and all seventeen members have song copyrights, they also contributed a lot over their famous content, GOING SEVENTEEN, they actually have meetings for it and now it eventually become one of the most popular idol content that public compared it national variety show such as Runningman, bcs nonfans also watch it. They also have their own fandom name, CUBIC.

Yes, I would love for you to check out Nu'est as well! Trigger warning though, the more you learn about them, the more you will cherish, but cry over them LOL. Unlike Seventeen, they *really* struggled in the industry before finding success post-Produce 101 season 1. They debuted alongside EXO, BTS, Vixx, etc. and suffered quite a bit... Anyway, here's a help w/ pronunciations: S-Coops, Won-Oo (second w is not voiced), Ming-Gyoo, and of course Vernon lol. All the members are super close, but some common friend[ship] pairings you'll begin to notice as you dive into the fandom are Seungcheol/Jeonghan/Joshua (the three eldest), Wonwoo/Mingyu, Mingyu/The8, Vernon/Seungkwan, and Hoshi/Woozi. Woozi and Bumzu (staff) are the main music duo, though many members over the years have contributed to lyrics and composition, and Hoshi and Dino-in collaboration with staff/outside choreographers-are the main choreography team. Again, many members contribute though. They sort of had to take all this on because in addition to wanting to, Pledis was struggling (they really failed towards the end with After School and struggled *hard* with Nu'est). Once Seventeen started gaining popularity, people started looking at Pledis again and that's why Nu'est's participation in Produce 101 was so shocking and important. Thankfully they're both technically under Hybe now so we don't need to worry as much... Hope this helps!

What’s refreshing about Seventeen’s pre debut show is that it literally is all or nothing with the group. It isn’t about which member is going to be included or not. But rather, whether the group itself will even be able to debut. All the members are in it together so it was really fun to see their teamwork and how they overcome challenges as a group and as individuals.

This Guide is awesome information-wise, but it does get the name pronunciation wrong (probably more the robot voice' fault than the creator, really), and *slightly* inaccurate positions. I think the creator just wants to say that everyone in their respective units are the "main" rappers/singers/dancers of the group in general due to their specialization in their respective units, even though their official stated position is not "main rapper/vocalist/dancer". So here's their name pronunciation and position corrections: *S. Coups/Choi Seungcheol* - S. Coops/Chwe Sung Chol (the 'eu' vocal is really hard to describe, so for simplification, just ignore the 'e' and pronounce the 'u' like you're wincing, like saying 'ugh') Main rapper, sub vocalist *Jeon Wonwoo* - John Won Oo (the 'w' in 'woo' is always silent in Korean. So the Korean pronunciation for Woozi is also 'Uji') Lead rapper, sub vocalist *Kim Mingyu* - Kim Min Gyoo Lead rapper, sub vocalist, visual, face of the group (member that gets recognized by general public) *Vernon* - (we usually just call him Vernon, but his Korean name is Choi Hansol -- Chwe Han Sol) Main rapper, sub vocalist (yeah, all the rappers are also sub vocalists ^^) Everyone in Hiphop unit also usually writes their own rap parts. Vernon is the only one mentioned with lyrics credentials in the guide because his credits are second highest after Woozi, the producer. (PS: Today (22 Nov Korean timezone) is Woozi's birthday!! What good timing!!)

Yes, you've been pointing out Mingyu a lot since last reaction vid, and I think he'll def be in your bias-line. He was the same 'muscle guy' on Left & Right. And in this specific guide reaction, you stopped on him thrice before his turn came up. The other guy you noticed a lot here is DK(Dokyeom). He was the one with the beautful, bright smile. He's our sunshine btw. He was also the one up in the big red car, who you said has caught your attention. I'm soooo excited that you're really getting to know them more now. Carats are generally OT13. Like one of the hardest questions you can give us is 'who's your bias?'. Majority of us settled on having a bias line with maybe half of the group then have the other half as bias wreckers. We're a mess lol.

Since exo being on hiatus, I also go back stanning Seventeen and omg I really love them. I think you will love many members from Seventeen since they’re genuinely cute and adorable. Their contents will definitely bring happiness to you. Seventeen group vibes similar like SM artist in my opinion. Mingyu feels like Chanyeol but clumsier. Hoshi feels like Baekhyun but with stronger performance. Dokyeom feels like Haechan (NCT) i think. And Seungkwan feels like Key (Shinee). Really love them a lot and love your reaction ❤️

I was impressed because you have really good intuition (you guessed right that S.Coups was a baby, Mingyu was clumsy and Vernon was memeable lol). Choosing your bias will be hard lol but don't worry, it's pretty common for carats to have a "bias line" because only one is not enough. The cutie you pointed out on 51:28 is Dokyeom, one of our main vocals!! I am also a Carat and Exo-l so I'm pretty confident you will LOVE our vocalists because they are amazing too^^ Personally, my fav unit is Performance Unit (my ult Jun is there
