Did this trip last month. The taxi from Daxing Airport to Universal Beijing only cost £27 so for the three of us it worked out better and easier. Have fun for the rest of your trip. We spent 23 days just touring around China.

That’s good to know! Love the fun of public transport though and seeing how it all works!

@@ThemeParkWorldwide we still used public transport for about 95% of our journeys around china (trains, metros, buses and boats) and it is so cheap, most metro rides were around £0.30p. Beijing metro was a little bit of a pain though as it was the only city we visited that you could not use the automatic ticket machine without a China ID card, everywhere else we could without any problems. I Found the Beijing metro app (Explorer Beijing - Beijing Subway Map on the App Store) invaluable for planning our journeys in Beijing it’s in English but also has the translated station names so I could show to person in the ticket booths to get our tickets. Have fun on your trip we loved our 23 days out there.

You can do what we always call “sink laundry” also. We do this when camping in a cabin. You just hand wash under garments and lighter weight clothing and hang dry until you can get to a laundromat. Have you heard of Earth Breeze laundry sheets? They are awesome!! You can take a pack of 60 loads in a package the size and thickness of a greeting card envelope !! I have used for almost a year now. Have a great time and can’t wait to follow along!!

it's easier to use the subway if you get one of the two main payment apps running. the payment apps are linked to your passport so you don't need to buy tickets manually and can use any of the automated machines.

I love your Disney Photo on your wall. I remember taking my wife to her first trip ever to Disney and she thought she was dreaming as she grew up watching all the classic princess movies always wanting to go as a child. At the age of 27 she finally made it. I told her she wasn’t missing much when I was a child because you got to see a 3d close up of Michael Jackson which is frightening to a ten year old.

The US to china flights you need a Visa. It’s called a tourist visa. The usual requirements. I was planning a return to Guangzhou or at least hong Kong this year but passport issues you know. So staying in the US again.

It’s always best to double check visa information before travelling, as it varies so much for different countries!

What’s the best way to find cheap train tickets from the north down to London? Often I find cheap flights from London (instead of my home airport of Manchester) but with train prices/hotels it often doesn’t work out as much of a saving

a friendly reminder. june 8 is the last day of Chinas massive college entrance exam which is about 13 million student. after that day, all theme park will be much crowded than before because study really need a break. so i suggest book early and enjoy asap.

Think of rice as the grain that sops up sauce. that’s literally what it’s for, putting sauce and protein on. It’s a replacement for bread. Actually in Japan rice flour is used instead of wheat flour as wheat is hard to grow. It’s a softer bread and slightly more crispy crunch on fried things. They also import a lot of flour for baked goods and pasta.

The main reason why you both have had to go through all of that extra security when travelling is because China is a Police State. So just be careful out there. Hope you enjoy your Asia trip anyway.

Hey guys. What did you do regards visa for China? We have a similar trip in October going Shanghai - Hong Kong - Shanghai. Hoping to utilise the 144 hour free visas for each entry to Shanghai. Were you able to do the same?

We used the 144 hour visa. Will be doing the same heading into Shanghai!

We are looking at using 1 x 144 hour visa to go UK-Shanghai-Hong Kong. Do you think we are ok to do Hong Kong-Beijing-Shanghai-UK, for a second 144 hour visa. Or do we have to leave from the same airport we entered China?
