Looking soooo good!!!! URGENT URGENT URGENT URGENT!!! when using the airless sprayers, PLEASE make sure to lock the handle everytime you set it down and twist the little nozzle on the top of the sprayer. It is crucial. Airless sprayers and the pressure they produce, if you accidentally hit your skin or fingers on high pressure you could end up rushing to the hospital and getting a finger amputated. Please be aware macenna! I'm so glad you got the awesome sprayer. I have the one you drag around for the 5 gallon buckets and my contractor stopped Me mid session and lectured me / gave me multiple examples of people he knew who lost fingers. So please please be safe!!!!!

A suggestion for the windows. Get a couple old wire clothes hangers, untwist them so they hang from the pole and just hook on the windows. And using two will help keep it from spinning so much while spraying. I am loving watching the progress!

So thrilling to see you use the original windows, with all the restoration. Absolutely best practice in historic preservation…and you preserve them from the landfill and get the benefit of dense old-growth lumber. People thought we were nuts doing this in the 1990s! Carry on!! One of the saddest moments of my life was after we sold our 1780s Pennsylvania stone farmhouse, and drove by a year later…and the new owners had replaced all the original double hung 12-pane wooden windows with vinyl windows, as well as the original 2” thick front door with a storm and screen combo. It made me heartsick. I’ve never gone back.

My fiancé and I are renovating our own fixer upper from the 70s and your videos have given me so much confidence as a female to get out there and do it myself. We have original windows and not enough money in the budget to upgrade them. You doing all your windows gave me the idea to reglaze and repaint all of ours, so I’m not tired of window videos at all!! 😂

Keep up with all the locals that help you or support you, like the guy that found your window things and the thrift store that let you decorate an area. Make sure you give back to them (cookies, cards, anything). It’s such a nice way to thank them for going out of their way and if your gonna live in this town for a long time, it ensures when things happen in the town, they will make sure you know about it.

Girl your are doing amazing work. I have been watching you for a while now. I wanted to offer you a suggestion for your painting. Try using the floetrol “flood” with your painting. Especially in that Wagner sprayer. They are temperamental if the paint is too thick. They will spit the paint out almost like a thin popcorn ceiling look. It’s terrible. We love your channel and I am so enjoying your home renovation. Fingers crossed your siding comes soon.
@Edu_Kate3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely love that sprayer! I borrowed the same one from my BFF's contractor husband when I expanded/remodeled my kitchen 15 years ago. My brother "manned" the sprayer and my SIL and I went around and pointed out areas he missed. Ha! As you, we had to experiment a bit until he got the hang of it. It made the job so much quicker. We cleaned the machine so well before returning it that I think it was cleaner than when I got it. Game changer.

I purchased this same paint sprayer earlier this year for my little furniture business. Just like your windows, it has cut the amount of time it takes me to paint a piece of furniture. Takes me a fraction of the time that it took me with a brush. You may also be able to use this sprayer to stain your floors. You can purchase an extension rod, which would save you from having to bend over to do your floors. You could also use the extension to paint your ceilings and higher up on your walls. Happy painting.

Macenna, your a strong girl, so many windows on a wheelbarrow and your pushing it like nothing💪🏻👍🏻 the front door trimming, I would paint it black or grey, cause the brown of the door always make it look like another white, more beige or cream! Did you strain the paint before you started using it? It will help keep the sprayer from clogging up. You can get the mesh strainers from Home Depot. Also, have a large piece of cardboard that you can spray the paint on at the very beginning to get the water out of the sprayer, keep it handy just in case it starts to clog up and you can quickly spray on the cardboard instead of making a mess of the project you are painting. Just make sure at the end you clean every piece thoroughly, which I know you will. This will be less of a headache in the future. This all just suggestions we have learned.

I'm pretty sure I have the same spray painter that you do, one of the downsides is that you need to make sure the intake is always submerged in paint. Ideally a tall narrow container can make it easier (I have some sort of weird bucket that I have no idea where I got that works, I just put the main unit on a stool so that gravity helps keep the intake submerged) but you can also just have more paint and use a 5 gallon bucket. Also, always clean it after you are done. It's easiest to clean when you use a water based paint.

So great to see the progress MaCenna, this is just getting more and more exciting the more I see, it really gives me inspiration to get busier on my own house projects, but winter is almost here and then most of those projects won't happen until spring since I am in Idaho and we have a lot of snow. But my projects will be a sunroom on the front of my house and a new bigger back porch and the carport will get a new roof and siding and a door and windows and it will become my art studio and my shop will get a pergola and new pavers to make it my new little tiki bar area. Thanks again for another wonderful video, sending love and hugs, bye for now.

I’m not sure if anyone else has said it but when you do the next batch or your doors. Put a small screw on the top and bottom of the window/door. Then set up two parallel boards between saw horses. Then you hang the window off the nails on the boards. So the only thing touching is the nail. You can do both sides at once and not have it swing and then slide it down and do the next and they can dry in place

🌺. Hi Mcenna, I was watching your bathroom flooring matches. And I think the grey color second to last on the sample piece looks good. I liked it a lot. Maybe look at it on your video. I have the same paint sprayer and I love the fact that if I don’t have to spray I can roll it with a brush that takes forever!!!! I LOVE mine. Just make sure you clean it really well & Rinse it, Rinse it a couple of times. If it sprays a bit thick or too thin, just spray for 30 seconds into a bucket. It will stop. Good Luck 🍀. I sent you the information about this paint sprayer a few months ago because I know how overwhelming it can be with sooo many on the market. Everything is looking so Beautiful 🏡

Love your design decision to have the porch floorboards run out from the house like the old-fashioned porch floors. Planking running parallel to the front of the house looks like a deck. Don't ask me how I know/Cape Cod reno! Will your building code allow for no railings since your porch floor looks to be less than 3 feet high? If so, it's a much more open, expansive look. Our 1887 Italianate had no rails. It looked good and no one ever fell off-- since 1968, at least! Again-- great designs and loving the videos and vlogs. Thank you.
