This video has spoken the whole struggle I've been through! I was also thrown into a niche I had no interest in due to one video getting millions of views, which completely transformed the direction I took it to feed my subscribers - but not myself. Another reason to keep the old channel as it was is that there may be something in the future that you do have an interest in that would fit in with the NFT crowd. You aren't passionate about NFTs, but you should keep an open mind toward adding to that channel in the future. Maybe even actively look for things that could be put on that channel, even if it's only a few times a year.

Thank you. I decided in the last days that I am going to abandon my asmr channel for different reasons: my language content that blew up isn't what I wanted my channel to be about. I tried to make more videos I enjoyed but they aren't working and then I thought about just doing language content for the money, but I don't feel enthusiastic about it + I think after 2 years and more than 100 vids (included those I privated) I kinda burned out. In a way it's become part of my weekly routine, I can see I love KZbin, I can be consistent and experiment and put the work in & I am going to miss it. So, I decided I will create a complete different channel in a year or so: 1. Preparing first and thinking deeply about what I want to put out there and how id like it to look 2. Making it about something I love and that relates somewhat to my skills/dreams 3. Making it more informative and less personal applying all I've learned so far on yt by making videos and watching others 4. Probably associating a blog or other socials to the branding In the end I realised my asmr channel served its purpose anyway: X made me just start and put myself out there X gave me the possibility to film in this house where I don't live alone and kee it private X improved my editing skills & technical knowledge X made me realise I can make it on yt and enjoy it X kept me alive and creative during a year of severe sickness X made me realise asmr is not my path, I don't enjoy it that much to stick to it for years and years, I want to be remembered for something else I already found some sort of niche, and my mind started flowing with video ideas that I would love to research and write about, I also realised what stuff I am not seeing so much on yt that I would like to watch. I haven't felt this enthusiasm since a long time. Thank you for the tips and the inspiration as well ❤

I also left 55k sub behind on my main channel to start this new from 0. Two main reason, shorts view weren't interested in long format also part of my audience wasn't the right fit for going deeper into the topic of the second channel. Still unsure if the right choice but finger crossed 🤞🤞

@@AprilynneAlter I think if it's something you have passion about and pops up in your life often (for example an ongoing thing like weight loss/investing) then it's far easier to be consistent and not be burnt out. My biggest tips are to let the algorithm do it's thing, posting links on social media, from my experience, hurt the channel's performance later on. Also, aim for a very high retention (above 70%) and you will see that your videos will be recommended a lot. And last one is an age old saying, niche down to the most minute and small corner of KZbin, stay there until you can no longer possibly fit there because you're too big for it. Best of luck, looking forward to seeing your journey.

Some questions: I’m an educator who teaches breathing techniques, and my content is purely educational but people keep telling me I need to be entertaining to grow (and when I listen to creators like Mr.Beast, it all seems geared to entertainment and not education.) What are you thoughts on how to make educational videos more entertaining and is it worth it if it’s not fully in-line with my brand? Also, do you do any mentoring or have any resources on what you use to edit your videos? I’ve figured out b-roll and other basics, but the animations still elude me, and I like your style! Thanks 🙏

I wonder if I should starts fresh or just be very careful with my niche to not box myself in like an actor that's been type cast ya know. I have some ideas to make my community feel like a part of the creative process but within boundaries. My channel is core supporters that support me whatever I do some in my niche but my channel is very old and was planning on repurposing it. I just wonder if YT would add like an extra boost to a brand new account that's performing. Clean slate it, very interesting, cos the new channel would serve my stuff to people more likely to want to see it rather than whatever categories it's put me in so far as there have been some pretty random videos hmmm thanks for sharing hey!

Hi Aprilynne, I just discovered your channel. You have a very rare talent (from a professional youtube watcher), I give you this : I wish deeply in my heart that you will at some point upgrade your channel into an even more personnal venture, because I am sooo interested in whatever you are interested to share because you care about it ! Your way of presenting Whatever- is wholesome and hits the right spot, you got the algorithm of youtube right but that's not it, your personnality type and work ethic etc.. can only make you rise. So I am very curious what are your passions and interests, the ideas about life, the future, your personnal life stories that made you who you are... what's your highest ideal for life ? No need to change channel this time, just transitioni into a double-channel personnal-youtube at some point, we love you also for you, all people interested in being better at youtube are people who want to share value with others - human beings, so we won't unsubscribe ;p Alright just freeflowing here sharing a bit of my soul to yours. Question. What if u do hv a niche u love but within that niche there's a sub niche u dont like. e.g:.I do bible prophecy staff right. n i just happened to do one vid about the pope. the vid got 19k views my biggest video but i dont wanna talk about the pope. my other vids give me between 100 to 1000plus views
@AprilynneAlter Жыл бұрын
Oof yeah, that's pretty rough. You have 2 options here: 1) ignore the Pope video, and keep making your own videos, and 2) unlist the Pope video, and keep going on with your videos. A very popular video in a topic you really don't want to talk about may end up hurting the performance of your other videos. But, if the topics are similar enough to each other, it could work out in your favor long-term!
