I always feel happier after I've watched one of your videos......Why can't all bosses be pleasant like you. It would be a pleasure to go to work.

Bro’ this has got to be one of the greatest vlogs of all time. The badinage between you all and the constant gip you give Kenneth is so funny. You must be such a cool boss to work with.

Good job lads as always just a tip though you need a dpc tray from the inside over the top of your air brick and you should tape all you're insulation then put the red buttons on after it's all taped

to hardwall rather than dab the solid concrete blocks SEEM to better to fix too. I did this on my last extension (all concrete blocks) to match into the existing house not saying I wouldn’t go thermo blocks on the next one.. same compression NM strength I guess just preferred the solid nature of the concrete blocks.. felt like a bunker!.. but yeah thermos with the better u-values.. and much lighter! Love learning watching your builds keep it up! Looking forward to the new build project

Great progress all around. That was fast block laying. Maybe it will be just one more week until the extension is wind and water tight.

Looking great Darren. Must of missed this. How did you attach the wall starters to the steel RSJs ? Did you drill and bolt them or use hilti style gun fittings.

If you don't want your building to fall over immediately after the builders leave, give Darren a call the guys done that many now that he will have figured out exactly what works best

To my continental ears it's always a bit strange to hear a mixer without the characteristic racket of a ring gear and pinion drive.

Have been a viewer for a while and love the videos. One question. Does the insulation not need to extend down below the dpc to overlap the insulation on the slab? Assuming 120mm on the slab it doesn't look like it will overlap enough but hard to tell. Keep up the good work and good to see you teaching the guys
@richardhasler671826 күн бұрын
With this type of insulation, yes, an overlap would be ideal, but you have to work around the wall ties. With the 'blown' insulation and rockwool, you have to be careful about keeping the insulation out of the cavity tray as it can soak up water, causing damp in the wall.
@matthewbaxter568226 күн бұрын
But as he installed the wall ties there's no reason these couldn't have been a course lower that's all I'm saying. The rockwool comments don't really help as with a 100mm cavity you won't be using rockwool anyway and the pir won't be affected by damp

150 mm below floor level
@MrJasonspratt26 күн бұрын
This new tongue and groove insulation you don’t put a wall tie every course on the reveals you put it every 2 blocks and put a double wall tie as your not supposed to cut the insulation in the middle also wall ties every 450mm in a stack format vertically and insulation should extend 150mm below floor level
