42 cement bags in one post - nothing is small in this amazing project. In our log house we have used rope is some sections to act as trim, which has worked well
@carlnelson73583 жыл бұрын
Notch a 3/4" groove onto the logs and slide your tongue and groove into the notch. Only go as deep as you need to until you see no gaps. Do the same thing if you were to put cupboards on the log wall. Make the sides of the cupboards longer so that you can slide the cupboards into the notch until all gaps disappear.

When I did my ceilings I took a tongue and groove board and sawed 3 pieces 18 inches long sandwiched all 3 together slid the middle one back 10 inches screwed them together. Now you have a clip. 4 or5 clips should hold your next board in place while you tap them together.

Hello there, you are doing a fantastic job, looking great and bringing back a lot of memories of our build. I don't remember who I was watching but they were building a cabin using huge logs like yours so instead of scribing each T&G board he scribed the logs just enough so the boards would fit. Not sure what one would be easier, either way, it's going to take some time. Coming along great...stay safe, be careful, take it easy and keep dry and cool/warm....

Rule #1 when installing tongue and groove is never beat directly on the tongue of groove, even if it's a soft hammer. Cut a short piece of scrap an hit that to drive the pieces together.

Looks great 👍! I GOT A QUESTION: Are you not worried about log settling or shrinkage and expansion in time in reference to the tongue and grove ? I noticed you cut out exactly to fit the logs with the tongue and groove. I just wonder if there will ever be enough settling, shrinkage or expansion that could possibly warp the tongue and groove?? Or maybe not ? I’m just curious.
