It's going to be a Frankenstein Machine for sure! I'll need to write down every part so I know what it came out of, and what year, so I know what to buy for replacement parts. It should be fun to do. Have a great day too!

Good Morning! I'm excited about making it. It's going to take awhile I think. I've got a lot of other things needing done too. I need a rear axle and driveline next. Have a great day too! Is it still -40? Strangely, we have +40F this morning? By afternoon it's supposed to drop to 25F or so, then back below zero again? Weird.....
@thecamocowboyoutdoors5693Күн бұрын
@MuskratOutdoors , This morning it was -22F, so somewhat warmer.

@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
Thanks! Same idea as a go kart really. Take a look at those Russian videos. Those guys make some really amazing things! It might give you some ideas you didn't think of before. I'd love to see it when you get it done.

You got the cogs turning in your mind . Off to a great start. Wish u lived closer to me I could throw u some parts . Front dead axle can b an old house trailer axle . Cut it down to fit . Interesting project ...
@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
Thanks! I'd like whatever rear axle bolt pattern to be the same on all of the wheels if possible. You can buy stub axles pretty cheaply on ebay.

Thanks! I think about things like this for a very long time before doing it. I've studied up on it and watched a ton of videos of people building these over the last few years. I have some ideas, but it might not work at all. It will be fun to try though!

Wish Id a knowed ya was gonna get goin on this project! I bought a 60-ish CJ5 frame and tub with no title for the tub several years back, and have no use fer the frame! No steering, no axles, but shed be a helluva lot stouter than angle iron. I just got to figure how to get the back two body bolts out to separate em, run to the dump to empty the pickup, fix the hydraulic hose I blew on the tractoe yestersay to lift it into the pickup to haul 'er up! Whew! Mebbe I'll follow along, and see how you do on yers first. Proof of concept type of deal, as it were, if'n ya don't mind. Maybe by springtime, I can get to the thing, but you're welcome to it! Take er easy!
@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
Thanks! The outside edges are channel iron. I think this should work pretty well actually. I'll have to cut and change a little to make things fit though I think? I want to try to make it as light as possible. What I really need now is an axle and driveline.
@darreldwalton8763Күн бұрын
@@MuskratOutdoors Wish I could help out with those at the moment. I've got some axles swaps planned down the road, but nothin loose at the moment. Lemme check with my boys...

Hey Morning !!! Little early here. Havin coffee with you & Hillbilly catchin up! Busy last couple day's trying to find a new tiller worth a crap. I did find a shop that would take on my 1973 Troy Built Pro Horse model tiller. Cast iron 7 hp Kohler engine. Biggest tiller troy built makes. Was my fathers & last year either the shifting for or 2 keys broke. Tines turn but wheels wont engage. Still have all original manual & paper work. 50 + years of service & the first break down. That tiller was $ 750 in "73" , it's now around 3,500 to 4,000 $$$ !!! Talk about inflation 😂!!!! So the build begins !! Whooo! I'll be watching.

Wellll, this is gonna be fun and interesting to watch. Good morning! I just retired and am looking for something interesting to do. Put a lot of thought into it over the past few weeks. Wasn't planning on it for a couple more years but the plant I worked at closed suddenly.
@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
Good Morning! Congrats on retiring! I've been thinking about doing this for several years now. Watched a ton of Russian videos with folks making these. Those guys do some amazing things! A lot of theirs are meant as swamp buggies that float. I just need it for the snow really, but it would sure be fun to drive out into a lake and go fishing! Lots of stuff to make! If you have any kind of shop, look into some of those videos!

I am working on close to the same but using hydraulic motors. It's pretty amazing how much power a 7 horse engine has when tied to hydraulic. Mine is not to run around like yours but to haul cedar and firewood. Using the hydraulic allows me to build the splitter right into the drive train. Going to use Farmall m tires for the tracks
@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
I'm really interested to see how that turns out. Very neat! The hydraulic motors would be the way to go, but they aren't cheap. It sounds like a really neat contraption. Have you seen that facebook group? "Personal tracked vehicles". Lately, there hasn't been much on it, but there's some good info there.
@Andrew-sandersКүн бұрын
@MuskratOutdoors no will have to look that up
@Andrew-sandersКүн бұрын
@MuskratOutdoors I have like you about Everything I need but one motor. Ya they are not cheap. And up there I think the cold wouldn't help where here most night don't get below 30

Good Morning Muskrat, I'm thinking that I goofed up when I junked the battery powered cart that was in our back yard. It was a 3 wheel machine with a seat and steering wheel plus the bed was probably 3×5 '. Could have been adapted for rear tracks and a ski on the steer.😢
@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
You probably could have! Half tracks like that are neat. I thought about doing that with this. Still might if the skid steering doesn't work out. Those Bombardier snow trucks were really neat. Something like that, but smaller would be fun.

Me too! I'm sure there will be some problems, but I think it will work. I've been watching a ton of Russian videos of people making these. I've got a good idea of what should work.....I think!
@MetaFortune77Күн бұрын
Hey you might have seen this but I thought it could help your brainstorming with the Rat Mobile. It's called "Ranger truck with 6.5 hp predator engine". Check that out. It should help a bit. See ya tomorrow!
@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
I did see that. It moves along pretty darn well for only 6 1/2 horsepower. My engine is supposed is supposed to be 14-15 horse power, but I don't know what type of gearing this transmission has? It's a Mazda RX7 sports car, so probably pretty high geared? I already have it, so I'll try it. Hopefully it will work.
@MetaFortune77Күн бұрын
@MuskratOutdoors I hope so too. It will make for some great videos.

Who would care to talk about Trump national debt 7.6 trillion dollars? Get a load of this, Biden 8.6 trillion. Too bad that all that money he was giving away, could have gone to pay the debt.
@MuskratOutdoors22 сағат бұрын
What bothers me most is that we, as Americans, pay taxes to improve America and the people that live here.....instead, they send our tax money to countries that hate us. Our own people foot the bill and go without. That needs to change.
@Standing_horse22 сағат бұрын
@MuskratOutdoors Thank you very much, that's all part of my argument. 👊
