That conversation while y'all were digging was super interesting. I also really like that so many of the Hermits have decided to move away from 100% definitely doing a massive base build to doing whatever comes naturally and makes you happy. It's so much more fun seeing you all enjoying yourselves while you build and plan out what you're going to do.

We went and saw Dune 2 recently and there was a married couple sitting in front of us. Probably late 30s early 40s. And the wife got bored an hour or so into the movie and pulled out her phone that was set to FULL SCREEN BRIGHTNESS and started scrolling through a group chat she was in, just rereading the messages in the chat. There was no service in the theater so she wasn’t even looking at new messages (not that that would make it ok) she was literally just reading backwards through the chat. Again, with her screen at full brightness. I cleared my throat a few times in a “stop being obnoxious” kind of way and eventually her husband looked over and told her to put her phone away. She was so offended by him doing that, she shot daggers at him with her eyes and said “what the f***!?” As if what she was doing was perfectly acceptable by any sane person’s standards. Props to her for not pulling her phone out again, though. I was sure she’d pull it out after a bit. People are just rude af and self centered and don’t care how they impact those around them. Idk but I feel like it’s gotten worse since COVID. People just forgot how to act over quarantine. Not that many of us knew how to act before quarantine. But it wasn’t this bad.
@PAPAYADRANK
@PAPAYADRANK 2 ай бұрын
I think part of it is also that we forgot how to overlook these bad behaviours! Not that they SHOULD be overlooked, but we'd just... gotten used to people acting fools in public, spent a few years blissfully unaware of how silly some people can act, and then came back to it with a fresh view and an aching desire for human connection just to get slapped with Oh No People Really Live Like This

Hey wels, think I've got a solution for the carpet problem. Couple years back I was heavy into the whole basement style thing, and something I learned was that you can actually disguise blocks very well with spruce trapdoors. So those red blocks you're worried about, you'll never see if you cover the entire roof with spruce trap doors. Just a suggestion of course. :)

Hello Welsnight, great video as always! 14:00 Instead of dropping ceiling by 1 block you can add slab underneath the carpet blocks, the log beams would still stand out, or another option is to add spruce trapdoors instead of slabs. same result but beams will stand out more. Or even only add the trapdoors under some blocks so the ceiling would look interesting too. You know what I mean :D

maybe lowering or adding half a block to the sides (between the walls and the collumns) would make the throne room more detailed, armor stands can drop down so you wouldnt have problem with it, i feel like throne rooms have that kind of elevation on the sides of the red carpet, also you can use a different block to make the room less spruce-y maybe marble/quartz to match the throne? and also you can make the platform of the throne with slabs then u can use a full wool block, you also wont need to have the platform on the back of the throne, and use a door and trap door on top of each other, win-win i guess :) love ur vids

Lol I love Riley barking at the old man voice! Maybe for the carpet, the ceiling downstairs could be half a block lower? I think the beams in it would look the same with slabs between instead of blocks, but still keeping most of the height and depth there. Also maybe you could have some bookshelves just be chiselled bookshelves? That way you can also change the texture up a bit with some shelves being more full than others, if you want to? I love the design of the hall, and I'm excited to see how it looks completed!

Wels, I noticed you taking a few trips back to your stonecutter a few times and just wanted to suggest considering maybe just keeping one stashed on your person most of the time in a bundle. You only really need one stonecutter so having one item take an entire inventory slot might usually be a big ask, but if you put it in a bundle, you could also put it alongside your ender chest, a crafting table, anvil, even any permits you don’t have hanging in shops!
