Last time I brought a head to that place they had it sitting for 6 months! Everytime I called they said they were working until one day I had enough! GOOD LUCK with those guys! Next time I’d recommend RPE machine shop in Hartford, they had my head done in less than 5days!

Once I drop off a k series block guy literally put 2 piston the opposite way. Big port towards exhaust side smh 🤦♂️ never going back there again

^^^ whatttt! I’m running my block the way it is @200k and was going to replace the valve seals myself, but I figured I’d refresh it a bit. I don’t trust anyone touching my stuff really, but I don’t get bad energy from the guy..

Loving it Gerb. Glad to see you getting started on it. Hope that machine shops done with it soon and we can see it going back together.

ggrab a socket that is the same size as the valve guide washer, your favorite hammer, and give it a quick hard whack. try it a few times in a row. takes 5 secs per

I know from personal experience I love to work on my cars , build it up and all. But for a living I opened my own business and can tell you I started to not like wrenching. That's me tho and I know u didn't ask but just saying.

@@noblewon3507 _yeh that’s a fair call 🤙🏼 I was watch’n a YT vid the other day and there was a guy saying that a lot of ppl were steering away from late model cars and buying the less complicated models but he didn’t have enough skilled ppl who like to wrench on them. That made me think about Steve🤔💭 and knowing his drive I thought he’d could make a great salesman/representative in the automotive industry at some point too_ … _but I do get what you’re saying_

@@thatguyben3128 true! I mean just cause I didn't really like doing it for others don't mean someone else won't just love it. For me I'm a perfectionist. I want to do everything perfectly and don't think people appreciate it. But if I had my own shop wasn't mobile and got to choose my jobs probably would like more. I think it's just me martial arts is a passion of mine as well. When I try to teach it I begin to not like it lol.

You are right. I did that mistake. Prior I bought cheap tools. Now I am like I would rather wait for two months and stack the money and buy a proper professional tool. Which most of them have a life guarantee.

Why not just upgrade the parts if you plan to boost or even N/A if you go cams ?
@TheGerbsteve4 ай бұрын
@@joeymcquilkin3670 because stock is perfectly capable of 400hp. I’ve done my research. When you start messing with the head (aggressive cams, stiff springs, valves, etc) you jeopardize reliability. A lot of these aftermarket parts are designed to last a lot less longer than oem.

I literally tried two different springs and the head bent before I was even halfway down. Screws were too short to hold tool into head, so had to use my own after it flew off once.. You get what you pay for…
