This one was so smooth! Got the pressure in much earlier, and even though that wasn't enough you hung on for so long! I do think there's room for going even faster though. When commenters are telling you to rush I don't think they meant "don't boom". With 10,000 gold you can do both! 18 pop up feudal rush with a simultaneous fast castle 5 TC boom is 100% doable. That 10,000 gold does you no good just sitting in the bank; gotta spend it as quick as possible. Maybe even idle TC and go up to feudal at 14 pop or something ridiculous like that. You can easily make up the resulting villager deficit by getting to 5 TCs faster.

Pretty sure the best play is to click up at 18-19 pop, transition most vills to wood, make a barracks before reaching feudal, instantly drop the marked and another military building with 7-8 builders total so you only have to que loom. (preferebly build a range or two if not bulgarians or Spanish to take advantage of the gold. With mezzo eagles could be good two). Buy 800 food to click castle age. Make feudal army as you advance to castle age on19-20 pop. Make both army and tc's in castle age. All this is possible with the marked and 10 000 gold. Also you should by the food/wood/stone you know you are gonna buy early rather than later to prevent the enemy team from giving you worse buying prices later. I know we are just plebs telling a 3k player what to do but it just seems like there is no reason to go up as late as you are in these games when all you need is a marked and you have plenty of res for everything including hitting castle age on 19 pop and getting a huge tech timing advantage while also starting your boom earlier.

Maybe fast feudal and buy castle age instantly if you want to boom, but from your own teachings I feel saving gold for later is like flooding gold in some sense. Also, why do you send so many villagers forward?! You start with 10k gold not food. They are not pros, archers and militia cost gold, and can I bet you could make 20 archers and still fast castle. I love the cheat challenges; there's lots of room for creativity with all of these. 1 vs X but you get one use of "put on your capes", or you get marco and/or polo, or an alpaca every 5 minutes starting minute 20. There's so much potential.

think the strat is: FC > Boom up to 75 vills, then go 3 or 4 stable knights and like a hord just plunder one player for a minute one after the other and follow up with 1,2,3 castles on different players. You need to definitely hurt each one of them early castle or at least 3 of them.

Just a quick suggestion for Hera; Next time you do these games, just add a rule that bans trading with your team. Because a map like Gold Rush falls a bit flat when you can just ignore mid and get your gold from safe trading at the edge of the map instead.

I think it'd be cool to see a game with Hera V 4 players but Hera starts with two bases and two sets of stsrting resources and villagers at different parts of the map and double the pop limit. Essentially Hera is controlling two different players at the same time.

I think 20 pop boost would be pretty fair because your economy would be comparable to the opponents but you would have sufficient army to contest each player. +50 is pretty op if your boomed up

you should try a 1v7 but they have to stay one age below you at all times. except dark age obviously. it would be really fun watching a bunch of castle age knights running the gauntlet with Khmer scorpions. or maybe feudal units vs Burgundian cavalier. that might be too op though so maybe restrict the Burgundians.

Great game. With 200 pop, population efficiency matters so much, SO seems like a good thing to try again in future games. I think if you hadn't been spotted during your first krepost attempt you could have snowballed even harder. Tips from a noob.

Love these videos. I think youtube is right though. You said it yourself you have to win early, when you open with a boom, it just buys the opponents time. Also imo I think you’re better off with food instead of gold. You basically converted 10k gold into 5k by selling. Selling food is way better with the new patch so doing that way its more flexible because you would get more gold than the other way.

i think it would be fun a 2v4 (or something like that) and everyone else is a noob, like, 500 elo or less. the catch is, you CANT attack, you can only defend your base and your ally base. id recommend you to be on voice chat so you can coach your ally while you try to keep both of you alive long enough for them to kill the rest 11

He would probably win with a 1v15 on aegis if the map allowed. That's instant hunt and berries to get to an instant feudal, then instant gold for maybe a 1:30 castle time, and boom you have instant gold, wood, and stone to pop instant forward castles with 1 vil, into instant 20 mangudai in each base while they're all still dark age. Nobody would be able to get up to feudal, let alone get gold for castle. Fully upgraded mangudai by minute 10 most likely, and enough of them to be in everyone's base

Who were the youtube commentators recommending that he early rush and not pure boom lol. I didn't think that was a good idea. Nice recovery though. Those scorpion numbers were absurd though. How could they afford that many scorpions? I'm wondering if most of the players built trash units and donated their gold to one or two players to build gold units. If that is the case, 10,000 gold probably isn't enough. Especially with how bad the market prices were. Edit - seeing the statistics, yeah Dimi collected 20k gold. They definitely were tributing gold to a dedicated player. And since he was on scorpions I'm guessing he tribute most of his food to yeti or emp. peter? If this wasn't gold rush map, you would be trading parity with Dimi in terms of gold.
