Superman has a lighter vibrancy to it because that’s how the character is, he represents hope, light and all of this positive stuff humanity has. I think that the new DCU Batman movie will be darker to make a contrast with the light this movie emanates.

I also treat George's 6 movies as one long movie. I enjoyed the Superman trailer. The Top Gun like music at the beginning gave me goosebumps. It looks so much fun and comic like. I love the addition of Krypto. The casting for Lex and Lois are very good.

I’m in agreement with Theory on this one. I really loved Man of Steel and I just don’t think any Superman that comes after will win me over the way that film did. I always liked Supes, however, I was more of a Batman guy growing up, but after watching MoS I became a hardcore Superman fan and have been one ever since. Got into the comics, games and everything. This new Superhero movie looks good, and I’m excited, but it’s sad that we had to lose Cavill.

While the look, vibe, and feel may not be dark; this trailer literally starts off with Superman himself, beaten, bloody, and broken. So the stakes are real and present and right up front shown to be a part of the story. That's James Gunn. Agreed regarding Cavil, he was a fantastic Superman; and this SHOULD have been made eight years ago with him as the star, but alas. A think the new guy, David...is gonna knock it outta the park. Like the actors that have come before him he seems to exude and present AS Superman IRL as well.

Superman is what got me in to comics so I am pretty picky with Superman. I started in the early/mid 90s during the Death of Superman series. Loved Man of Steel, I didn’t have a problem with Superman killing Zod as long as the character grew from it, which I feel he did. With that all being said, the treatment of Doomsday in Batman v Superman just ruined the movie for me.

I dunno. I feel like if the Warhammer 40k franchise had the kind of bloated funding Star Wars has, it'll put it in the grave. The latter has been mismanaged so poorly that I'd love for something else to take its place in the sci fi arena. At least at its scale. That said, there are numerous superior sci fi universes out there, they just didn't reach the masses like Star Wars did. That said, 40k has its own problems, no thanks to Games Workshop.

Introducing the JLA, The Authority, Ultraman (clone or not) and Green Laterns is a lot for a solo Superman movie.

I can't stand that new Superman top gun wannabe trailer. Zack Snyder really only fucked up Batman versus Superman and even that wasn't that bad. Ben was pretty awkward as Batman because his performance was hit or miss and nothing in the middle put Pattinson would have done fine. The Snyder cut of Justice League was literally the perfect introduction for Darkseid as well. Excluding Dawn of Justice, the Snyder verse was actually a decent introduction. I wish they would have just continued because justice league dark and apokolips War needed the darkness for which Snyder is so well known. Everything after the Snyder cut of Justice League is a reflection of giving up. P.S. I don't care who thinks I'm wrong I think a Green Lantern movie that uses Nathan Fillion as the Green Lantern would be a Smash Hit

I can’t believe people are still butt hurt about Henry Cavill not being Superman anymore. He hasn’t been in a theatrically released movie as Superman since 2017, Black Adam was an abomination, and his appearance in that was a tacked on cameo, so it doesn’t count. He hasn’t really been Superman for 7 years. I think it’s time to grow up and get over it. Being angry is not helping anyone, and won’t change reality.

I might be stretching, but perhaps having Crypto immediately in the trailer was a dig against Dwayne The Rock Johnson, who voiced Crypto in The League of Super Pets, because of the whole Black Adam fiasco which pretty much ended the DCU. The Rock has become a diva, who now tries to ruin everything in his path.

It looks to be another nerfed Superman movie, it appears to be more of the same old thing we have been getting for the last 10-12 years. I wonder if our expectations have fallen so low that what would of been considered mediocre now looks great? The red flag for me is that they put the Guardians of the Galaxy referance concerning Gunn in some of the promos. Reminds me of Rings of Power, well it's LOTR so it has to be great. I will wait and see if its any good before I sing its praises.

If making characters look and feel how they are in their comics, then by all means, make more of the same. It ain't low expectations, it's making films that treat characters such as superman with respect. And really? The guardians of the galaxy thing is a red flag? Did you think it was a red flag when they showed Zack Snyder's name on the man of steel teaser and right below his name it said "director of watchmen and 300"?
