We can say that it’s just down temporarily, but that doesn’t make it reality. A very large portion of the Star Wars fanbase has not put much if any money into Disney's SW products since TLJ and TROS. Disney hasn't even made back the money they spent to acquire the brand! If they respected the source material and made good products, it would have been great, but they didn’t, since Disney is now given more money by companies such as blackrock than what the audience would pay if Disney exclusively made good content, incentivising them to head down the same self-destructive DEI path that so many other modern entertainment businesses have chosen.

Less people watch Star Wars lore nowadays because us fans don't like the narrative that Disney has taken it in. Before Disney we used to fantasize a lot about what happened outside the movies. And I notice with myself as well, that I don't care anymore. Disney had pretty much killed the expanded universe and dumbed everything down. There's also a lot more content now. Back in the pre-Disney days.. we only had 6 movies + clone wars. And we had lore from the EU. Disney era named all of that EU "Legends" which basically means it's meaningless now. It didn't happen.

Everything has probably been said before but I think Mace Windu as a stand in for Jorrus C’baoth in a legend type reboot eoukd make sense. I think with Disney clearly the writing , storytelling is the eorst problem but I don’t think they built up interesting villains at all. Mukkelson is excellent actor but age is a thing and he just wasn’t portrayed well. I’d go younger with him. That’s just me. But in a new retelling that involved a bunch of new stories , these are bad guys I WOULD include. ( I know sone have died in materials but I’d retcon them- Thrawn Paelleon Rukh Mace Assaj Cad Bane Embo Bossk Black Kryssanthan Ig-88 A couple of Nightsisters 4-LOM Zuckuss Then maybe a reimagined Baylan and Shin . This would make 4 dark side wielding adversaries and sone cool familiar bounty hunters
