I wouldnt blame ya if ya slapped em in the fat head. Lol. Jeezus Christ on crutches people just barely know Sweet for godsakes.

I saw them open for BOC at Cape Cod in the late 70's. Meet them at the hotel and got a tour of the bus and autographs. I was 17 and still love the band today 40+ years later.

OMG!...saw these guys in 1976 or 1977 at the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair!!!!. I remember being so close to the stage I got some of Michael's sweat on me. Cherry Baby had just come out on the radio and I had just seen them on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert. The big thing at the time was that some of these guys were KISS without makeup;as mentioned in either Hit Parader,Creem or Circus(music magazines of the time)...From the back cover of the STARZ album; the guy on the right(Peter?...RIP)did look a bit like we would have perceived Ace Frehley would look like without makeup, And because they were managed by Bill Aucoin(KISS's manager);it would have been kinda possible.The band that opened for Starz was a local R & B group named The Billion Dollar Band. Also saw Rex Smith(Michael's brother) live in 1977 with his band REX..He would have a trampoline on the stage and do sommersaults!. IMHO they may not have been as big as others,but they were influencers ..I think that's a hell of an honor.
@wasntme95783 жыл бұрын
They may not have been as big as Kiss but they sure should have been! They were lead up the mountain, just about to summit and unceremoniously abandoned to stagnate while other more established bands got the support and the hype and the promotion that they were promised. Heartbreaking. They had the formula that catered to the audiences of the time. Heavy hitting hard rock songs like Its a Riot, Subway Terror, Violation, panty droppers like Cherry Baby, Sing It Shout It, Johnny All Alone, raunchy titillating diddies like Cool One. Damn they had it all!

Starz was formed out of the ashes of the early 1970s pop band Looking Glass, which had the No. 1 hit single "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" in the summer of 1972. - Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starz_(band) "Brandy"- kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIKXgZd5p7GandE

Whoa - didn't recognize Ritchie there at first. Thought it was Michael Mckean / David St. Hubbins ! I spotted Joe X Dube though. They did a great job here. I remember them when they were opening for pretty much everyone back in the day. They used to have those stacks in the background and Joe's drum kit was quite ornate then.

In the 70s, Starz should have been bigger than Aerosmith. Michael could at least carry a tune. All Tyler could do was scream through every freakin' song. Ranno is a tight and technical guitar player. Perry was a sloppy mess at best. What I wouldn't give for a time machine! I'd go back to the 70s and never leave!
