Oh Lisette! Don't let people make you feel bad for how they interpret something. I am shocked that someone would feel just because they could be petty, they had to be petty. You did absolutely nothing wrong, and I am sure those that feel you are in the wrong are in the minority. Creators like you, who we've followed for a long time, do actually feel like a diamond painting "friends" even if you are quite literally on the other side of the planet and we only share the diamond painting side of your life with you - a membership does not change or affect that. I think that person was just having a bad day and took it out on you (unfairly). This week I finished one diamond painting, and I bought one (the Molly Harrison mystery kit - I adore her art). So at least my stash didn't technically increase and I feel like it was a small win since it is the only mystery kit in my stash 😅 Gefeliciteerd met je achtenveertigste verjaardag! So many organizations use the word friends for donors etc. Its a common term to use. I dont think anyone would have actually understood it as a paid friendship. I work in the theater ticketing business ,and so many theaters use Friends as a level of donar membership. At the end of the day this is just an arts and craft hobby. Crafts are meant to be enjoyed and to pass the time and have fun! Happy birthday 🎂!

The timing of your posting systematically more often has come at a point in my life where I just can't keep up -- I'm caring for my granddaughters, one a premie and the other four -- but I want you to know how much I value your approach to diamond painting. It is especially important to me now that I don't even have any time or energy for doing dp's. When I dip into your channel I get a lot of reassurance that there is no one way to be involved in this craft and that my own pace is okay. If I only have time to place a few drills a day I can still feel a part of this community through people like you and a couple of others who are very good and kind and supportive instead of driven somehow. Those other folks have loud voices but that only encourages me even more to just tune them out! Your content is so valuable Lisette. Don't let the fretful ones dis you!💖

Glad you've settled on something that works for you! I will say, "friends of" is often used as a term for financial supporters in the US (e.g Friends of the State Theater, Friends of the Michigan Opera House), so this was neither surprising nor misleading to me. 🤷‍♀

Hi Lisette, so sorry that someone made you feel bad about your membership. I would have thought it would be up to the creator to name it whatever they want since it’s their channel. Then it’s up to your subscribers to decide if they want to join. I know a monthly membership is difficult for some people, especially since there are so many creators and we can’t financially afford to support them all. Oh please don't feel bad or try to explain yourself to people who just gonna continue complaining no matter what. It's a trend nowadays to get upset with anything and everything unfortunately. Lots of big channels do it and never explain themselves. And they do affiliate programs and so on. Your channel is one of my favorites because it's different and supports my values of buying less and being happy❤ I didn't do membership before for personal reasons (I don't like subscriptions of all kinds) but I consider myself a friend of the channel because I like you and what you do. I consider a lot of people in the community that I spend time watching and enjoying their content as distance friends. Hi Anita - dank je wel. Ja, ik ga normaal ook niet in op negatieve opmerkingen (gelukkig krijg ik er niet zoveel), maar met dit verhaal begreep ik het eigenlijk wel. Ik was gewoon een beetje overdonderd, omdat ik echt nooit misbruik zou maken van het feit dat ik filmpjes maak op youtube en uit zou zijn op geldelijk gewin...maar kleine moeite voor mij om het om te gooien en ik moet zeggen - ik heb ook best een aantal bedankjes gekregen van mensen, die het heel prettig vinden dat ik dit aanpas. I’m a bit of a lurker. I’ve been watching for a while, but kept forgetting to subscribe. This is the internet and very open to anonymous keyboard warriors with boxes of crazy. Those people want to party and you have to tell them no. This is your channel and you cannot be responsible for how people interpret stuff. I think it’s admirable to explain your thought process, but you don’t have to change to fit in the box of someone else’s reasoning. Content creators can be bullied so please protect your mental health.

Happy Birthday!!! 🎂 I bought the Molly Mystery Kit this week, but I'm also close to completing a WIP, so it's not terribly naughty of me. 😅 I justified it because Mystery kits are limited releases, so there was the possibility it could have sold out forever in the 5 or so days needed to finish the current WIP. And I didn't buy a second kit to get free shipping, I decided to order the new DAC wax/putty instead to try.

I am not sure why you would change anything based on one person. You are much nicer than I would have been. In my world, majority rules. It speaks volumes about them, not you. I did not buy any this week. I am continuing to remove the ones I have from my home. I clearly will not miss them b/c a lot of them I did not remember buying. 😊 Looking forward to seeing your JGS purchases. I am in the US and have never purchased from her. I have supported Craftibly and Enablers Outpost. No other small shops have caught my interest. Even in the US it is hard to justify the way increased cost of the DP and shipping when DAC, DD have better selections and free shipping. I waste a lot of money so I could redirect some but it is of no interest to me to shop with minuscule choices. I do not even bother looking.
