• The "State Anthem of the Soviet Union" was the national anthem of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the regional anthem of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic from 1944 to 1991, replacing "The Internationale". Its original lyrics were written by Sergey Mikhalkov (1913-2009) in collaboration with Gabriel El-Registan (1899-1945), and its music composed by Alexander Alexandrov (1883-1946).

I really know a lot about the Soviet Union…. The Soviet Union had 15 republics that are now independent countries. The 15 former Soviet Socialist Republics were Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. Each Soviet Socialist Republic had its own culture, languages, ethnic groups, anthem, government, and capital city. The Soviet Union’s capital city, and largest city was Moscow. The most populous Soviet Socialist Republic was the Russian SFSR. The least populous Soviet Socialist Republic was the Estonian SSR. About half the Soviet Union’s population was ethnic Russian. Nearly 70% of the Soviet Union’s population was East Slavic. The largest ethnic group in the Soviet Union was Russian. The Soviet Union lost over 20 million of its people during the Second World War. The Soviet Union lost about 10-15% of its population during WW2. The Soviet Union expanded from the Baltic States, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Siberia (Northern Asia). The Soviet Union had the most nuclear warheads than any other country in history! The Soviet Union was where history’s most deadliest battle took place in Stalingrad from 1942-1943. The Soviet Union managed to regain its stolen land from the German invasion operation Barbarossa from June 1941. The most spoken language in the Soviet Union was Russian. The first Soviet Socialist Republic to declare independence was Lithuania. The last Soviet Socialist Republic to declare independence was Kazakhstan. The Soviet Union was where the deadliest nuclear disaster occurred in Chernobyl in the Ukrainian SSR. The Soviet Union was the largest communist country in history. The Soviet Union was the first country to ever go to space. The Soviet Union released the very first human in space Yuri Gagarin. The Soviet Union was the first country to send technology into space. The Soviet Union more than 100 ethnic groups in total!
