Thanks for publishing the review - great information! To clarify a few small details. The CNC process actually is a process that allows us to cut out a more complex design/pattern out of a single piece of aluminum. This allows the crank to be stronger / lighter. The Black Label crank is higher-end that the "molded" cranks you'd see on other bikes and much lighter as well. Cost incidentally, is higher with the CNC'd machining process. As for the tires, you're correct that 28c should clear and maybe 32c depending on the brand. Saddles are definitely personal preference, hope you can continue to enjoy it, customize it, and make it your own!

Are the non-cnc cranks cast or would they by forged? And I guess the chainrings would be stamped and then machined?

I’m glad state bicycle commented on the CNC process, it’s actually far better than casted parts, and is the same production process as almost all other high end metal parts.

I've been riding an army green V2 since Jan of 2018 and it's been a great bike. That said, you basically nailed the few "issues" that I had with it. The saddle wasn't the right shape for my ass (replaced it with a Fizik Arione), the paint is easy to scratch, and the crank felt kinda cheap. After a little over 5,000 mi (8,000km) the crank ended up exploding as I went to take off from a stop, so I upgraded to a Sram Omnium. The color difference between the gum walls and the Vans grips bothered me, so I swapped the tires out for some all black 25c ones that I had laying around, but I might try to stuff some 28c tires on there later. It'll be close, but I think they'll fit. I'd be surprised if 32s tires would clear, but maybe.
