I love how you both said the dark times will eventually pass. Such an uplifting interview! There is a song called This too shall pass. The lyrics say what you are going through shall not last, this too shall pass. Life will just open up if you make it through the hills and valleys. You will smile and laugh again. We all have tough times in life. You look at actors you appear to be so much in control, but you all our human just like us. I listen to you every Sunday and I forget you are a star. You have a heart that can connect with people. You went through the fire so that you could reach back and pull others out. Bravo Mr. Benard! Good things are coming to the Benard Family! It’s fun hearing Charles talk about the presidents of NBC, who were there during the years of ‘The Nanny’. I actually know who the Vice President was during the show’s run. His name was Pierson Mapes. He was the VP from 1978 to 1994. He was also a college classmate of my father’s. Small world.

I so enjoy your talks. Wish I had someone like you to talk about what is inside of me. I am 78 and for years have tried to analyze myself. Always the same issues. I have begun many journals and if I look back over them over the years I have the same feelings. I feel like no one really likes me, even me. I always had to be the good girl as an only child and as I grew I learned not to make waves or voice my feelings because it might upset someone.

Maurice this conversation was very fun and relaxing. It is sad that so many issues that can kill are silent to others. I have no issues with my mental health and can not even fathom what that would be like. Now medically I have and finally just learned to not care what people thought about me weighing 75lbs. I know all the internal organs that I lost do too a mass. It took 19 yrs and I’m finally back to 95 lbs. My son always said that if I’d lost a limb people who did not know me would be compassionate. Not being able to see my scar and my insides I was mocked. Did I care no because I’m alive and breathing. It’s made me have deep, deep empathy for those suffering no matter what and yes there is a rainbow out there. Hugs to you Maurice and thanks for this beautiful conversation today.❤

This was more awesome than I even expected it to be, Maurice. What a great guy. You can just feel it, listening to him. I'm familiar with Charles from OLTL as well as The Nanny and loved him on both. I was so happy to see him come to GH. The tribe concept, when it comes to kids figuring out what to do with their lives........how awesome!! When my daughters were "flailing", trying to figure out which life path to take, and what they wanted to major in in college, there was very little guidance or help in that area from the schools here. Something that I think is a huge disservice to our kids .....but I digress.....😁 This concept Charles pointed out, while trying to figure out what direction you want to take in life, is really an awesome one! This was SOOOO good, Maurice!! What a great guest choice for SOM!!! So intelligent and understanding as far as the subject of mental health. Also, the way you describe the difference in the way other people handle seeing an obvious, physical injury and something that is actually going on inside someone was very interesting and so true. LOVED this one, Maurice! Have Charles back sometime!! I hope Victor Cassadine sticks around Port Charles for a very long time!! ❤

When I was in 7th grade on 1987, my friend and I were in a speech class. My friend @erickagoe and I had to present a speech in 7th grade...I can't really remember what it was about but we wanted to incorporate a soap star heartthrob in it, and each piece of paper rhat we held had Charles's picture on the back so that when we were presenting our audience all saw his head shot, because we had such a crush on him. So when he came onto GH I was thrilled!!! This was a great interview and awesome to see who he really is. ❤️ 💙 💜

As a minister I have helped others with mental health and have had my own issues to deal with. Keep up the good work! And bring Charles back!!!
