Hate to be one of “those guys”, but for anyone that has a SC in similar condition, do the gates and doors FIRST. That way you will have a flat workspace of the bed to work from. Of course if you are lucky enough to have a shop with fab tables, ignore me and carry on. Love hearing about your rotisserie plans. I would love to build one of those and will be watching with interest. Thanks for the real down to earth, though a bit negative VW content. Good to see real life old car struggles and successes. It is somewhat inspiring😜😂 Happy New Year!

Great episode Taylor. I suggest you buy your new steel materials (sheets, bars, tube, etc.) and stamped parts before the next prez messes it up with the tariffs he's threatening. To improve cash flow, perhaps work first on jobs that will bring in the most profitable returns. If you take the V-8 block for a hot tank clean, ask if they can also do a Magnaflux to find cracks or fractures.

Always love full restorations. They make a nice story to follow along and look forward to the next video. For the SC, did you consider a tipper. I built a simple one with 2x2 tube so my 64 could set at many different angles. Very cheap and built in a day. I posted plans on TheSamba if interested. I am building a simple rotisserie for my current 54 bus though.

I did see those and I don’t have the space for it. I need and want to be able to keep the scab in one spot and rotate it 360° without having to take it off the stand or needing 8 feet on either side to roll it.

How about camber limit straps for Rita or a camber compensator?
@wickedwerks3 күн бұрын
I’ve considered the compensator until I have the time and money to do the IRS conversion. I have another chassis that I’ve been meaning to do something with so I would likely build that and then swap the body over.

I like all your videos that’s why I subscribe. Maybe a in-depth maintenance every 3000 mile stock tuneup. Including a carburetor 34-3 fine tune, timing fine tune oil change ect.. ect. The basic maintenance you need to keep your Volkswagen running. And maybe an in-depth performance engine rebuild. Step by step start to finish. Explain bore, stroke compression things you need to know and videos to follow to rebuild your own motor modified or stock.
