We need this kind of investment in intercity rail.

Believe it or not Northern Indiana is creating a branch commuter rail route to almost Dyer Indiana. Basically the chapter of freeways could be at the start coming to a close.

@@keystonetuscanred4921no they’re not. Indiana was actually one of the states to stop funding the state supported Amtrak intercity routes.

@@keystonetuscanred4921great NW Indiana is doing rail but no freeways are very safe especially in Indianapolis where the state is hostile to light rail.

Red state free market leave it to the businesses at the interchanges. Isn't this mentality also a reason this project took so long?

All Fort Wayne gets is a never-ending patching project, and they can't even finish the cheap cloverleaf at I-469/US 24.

Now if they would only repair all of the other interstates, make them 3 lanes, and open the rest areas.

A 1970s idea that should have died. More roads, more highway lanes, more vehicle miles traveled… all are in the wrong direction, away from a more sustainable economy that works more fairly and cares for the Creation.

Every single thing you buy gets to you by highways. When you call an ambulance, you get to the hospital by highways. Highways are the backbone of the economy and life.
@rongreen89623 ай бұрын
@@povertyspec9651 maybe the backbone of the economy, but not so much of life. More life and less economy, that’s what I’m talking about. Economic growth is killing the planet and the spirit of the people, and we’ve got to find a way to turn that around.
