I was not aware of the experimental quarter’s. That would be so sweet to get one of those handed back to me in change. As I’ve mentioned in a few of the other statehood quarter video’s, I have two big blue books of these quarter’s. Each page has information about that state, stamp’s from that state, and a P&D quarter. I’m loving the information you are giving us about them! Thank you again!!

I recently have been given access to my grandpa's coin collection. My grandfather is an 80 year old man who has been bound to a wheelchair for the past few years due to suffering his 3rd stroke. Unable to move his right side and living with my parents, he's been doing therapy to hopefully at least talk. He has a HUGE collection a lot of old and silver coins. Dates rage from old (I'm talking 1895 morgan dollar type stuff) to the 2000 state quarters. ALL of the state quarters are in fantastic shape! He even started putting all the the best looking ones in rolls by state, although never completed an actual full roll of any state. He did almost complete one which was California D, he had accumulated 38. I would add 2 more that I have personally found, but let me tell you; every single one of them are in gem/bu state! In my 5 years of coin collecting I have never seen such beautiful luster and I could not just add 2 other coins that can't match that criteria! Anyways, enough rambling. What I'm trying get at is that I have already pulled what I'm going to keep and I plan on becoming a member of a coin grading service and send some coins in and sell the others raw on eBay. Probably rolls of those state quarters with at least one of those brilliant Californias and also sell some graded ones. I'm going to give the money I make to my parents to help with my grandpa's speech and physical therapy and health care.

Experimental Quarters? Nope, thats a new one. Im keeping an eye out for any quarters that are different. Love to find one. I wouldnt call it an error coin but experimental. The error is that they got out maybe. They can call it whatever they like but just call it worth a lot of money. ha. Yes, I definitely save the quarters. Ive managed to get an example of everyone from P n D and a few proofs. I then get those booklets and put sets together. But the 2009 Guam and 2019 River has been a very limited find. Thanks for another great coin video JB.

I remember in 5th grade our school had everyone submit a drawing for the design. I drew Ford riding on top of a turtle that was floating in the river below the Mackinac bridge for the michigan design. Should of drawn a modern mustang crashed into a burning house surrounded by huge abandoned building. Also, a plastic bag floating across the street.

I know absolutely nothing regarding coins. However, in change last month I received a 1999 Pennsylvania Quarter with P mint mark. It stood out because it was extremely vivid silver on the face and back. It also has a gold edge as well as a gold lady liberty and a vase looking thing to her left. It weighs 6 grams even. Excuse my ignorance but I’m just trying to find out what it is exactly. I can’t find one online in a pic anywhere. It appears to be in excellent shape like it’s not been in circulation very long at all.

Yes, I do collect the state quarters, and different series of our United States quarters. I love the art value very much, and enjoy hunting for the rarities too. So as to if I think the coins in question were errors or just experimental, I think maybe both? The experimental planchette was intended to be used, but I believe there is some die chip errors, off center punching, and possibly some doubling going on in the coins pictured. I didn’t know of all these variations though, or of their weights. pretty cool, thanks Mr J & Mrs B!

To question 1: Since the U.S. Mint Declared state quarters as mint errors, so then they are. But, State quarters are not Conventional Mint errors. I think the reason why they're called Mint Errors is because the Mint did not originally intend for them to be put into circulation. That was the error, Not the Minting process itself. After all, they are indeed quite beautiful. To question #2: I recently began collecting State Commemorative quarters on a hunch they were valuable. The first one I got was a New Hampshire 1788 "Old man of the Mountain. It caught my attention because it stood out. Yes. Now I do indeed have a collection of state quarters and parks amounting to 58 (with a couple of duplicates). Among the 50 states, I'm missing five. But, I have the U.S. territories as well. Care to trade?
