Don't ya just love it when the modular and other music gear takes over the house, only problem is you run out of room to use it all at once and Behringer and other companies ain't making it any easier with all there new(old) analogue stuff and modules. Great track BTW :-)

@@hardwiredtoselfdestruction3401 I know that when I was on 10 grams I was in so deep that music was irrelevant once I hit peak. I was starring at the blue sky while laying in my backyard and the stars and stripes appeared in full color with A bald eagle next to it, extremely powerful, there was an entity that was saying that America is The serpent and I was fighting with this thing telling it that America is a beautiful idea and it shall not be destroyed. A quote that came out of that trip was......"The serpent dances upon the foundation of fools." That quote was based on a drawing of a clown standing upon the foundation of the zombies wandering aimlessly banging their heads upon brick walls. I actually saw dragons ripping humans apart and the skulls of the dead forming this foundation. I just let my hand go, let it flow. It became too intense and I had to walk away. I went outside to breathe fresh air, as I layed on the ground again I could feel a presence, I started to speak and it was with a Russian accent, I started to hum a tune, I went into the house spoke to my wife and she recorded me as I was speaking, I couldn't stop with the accent.... eventually I did. I could speak for awhile and then the wave hit and I was out to lunch again the visuals of entities appeared again, this time it was a Gorgon sticking his tongue out everything was in liquid gold with Pyramids blending and flowing. I also had this feeling of the sum of the multiples are me....... In 2020 I had 5 trips and none of them were under 5 grams. 2018 I was 48 years old, it was my first experience with mushrooms 7 grams.

Scene: Lieutenant Martin Castillo calls the boys into his office to tell them a job well done, but not without giving them a proper shakedown for their unorthodox antics in getting the job done. The mess will be left to the district attorney to clean up and he's not happy. This track slowly fades in. Cut to the next scene. An overhead shot from a helicopter steady-cam: Sonny & Crockett are driving in their Ferrari Testarossa across one of the famed bridges that go across Biscayne Bay after being deep under cover for a year. Their partnership has been sealed in gun battles and arrests made over the course of the past year. The sun is setting into a myriad of pinks, purples and blues. Both cops' wardrobes match the sunset. They lost a close colleague in a shootout to one of Miami's biggest drug lords (while shootouts of the past year cut in and out) , but now the druglord is dead too. The rest of the gang's bad guys are behind bars. Miami is safe for now - until someone inevitably fills the void (as foreshadowed earlier in the episode). Sonny and Crockett say nothing to each other as the top is down and the wind blows in their hair. Roll credits. Wrap that year's season.

I played a loop of this in my mind the night I began my deep dark battle with Covid and pneumonia, played it all night long in my head. The song help me keep calm as my condition steadily worsened until I reached sunrise, then headed for the emergency room. Sometimes, I close my eyes reliving that night with the music replaying itself again, softly in the background. I would call it "dramatic ambience" if there actually is such a thing. This masterpiece is something that I'll never forget, for it was in my head at a critical point in my life.

Thanks, as always, for sharing this. I do like how you reinvent some classics, like all the TD ones that you have done. Phil Collins I have also enjoyed a lot. I would not have thought of doing an ambient remake though. This is quite insightful of you to think of doing and you pull it off! This one I am going to call a special one. I just lost my house to a fire a few days ago...and my whole music studio turned to white ash and scrap metal inside it. The fire was so hot it melted the metal frame that was holding the house. It was nice to hear you play your wonderful music this morning as I go through this. I know things are going to be well. Keep playing your music...it is more than entertainment.

@@stateazure Thanks, I am in Southern Oregon, one mountain pass away from the coast. This has been the worse fire season of the last decade and possibly even the last 100 years. It seems that a very strong wind combined with a grass plain fire to produce something almost like a flame thrower that blasted our house to gray ash and even melted part of the metal frame. I lost a library of 40 boxes of books, all my musical instruments except three that I grabbed going out the door. Lots more also destroyed. I learned a lot about how transitory and fragile life is, but also how precious. It is like music...music is so transitory that each note disappears as soon as it is made, and yet the whole sound reverberates through time. I will be okay. Thank you for your sympathy and your music. I really appreciate your music a lot and now it is a source of continuity through this rite of passage. Everything feels like it is unfolding perfectly with the flow of good sensitive ambient music.

Nicely done. But like a fool I was waiting for the drum fill. Should be called, Not In The Air Tonight - then I wouldn't have been waiting. But great stuff, I couldn't do this as I'd have to finish on the drums.

Should have done the fill, but with a very dry analog high-pitched snare: “tik tik, t-tik, t-tik tik, t-TIK TIK!”

Maybe the fact that this doesn't have that expected drum fill and leaves me wanting more every time I listen to it, is part of the magic. It's exquisitely unsettling ... I have to play it again... and again. Like driving around thinking about my ex girlfriend or craving drugs intensely and just feeling it and then realising I'm not gonna go see her or score...

With the recurring use of that beat, I'm inclined to put this track into a subgenre of ambient/prog with Heart Beat, Pig Meat and Obscured By Clouds by Pink Floyd (which have also been remixed as ambient tracks). Of course, if the big drums came in, it wouldn't have fit into this subgenre.

I agree. Wasn't as epic as the camera angle and gear suggested. I was expecting a lot more to be honest.

I know modular synths are really cool, but ... there's a point where you need to admit you have a problem. Are they patch cables, or are they hundreds of little cries for help? Kinda hiding the Octatrack. Cuz the Octatrack looks at you and tries to tell you, "Hey, I'm doing all the work here," and you're like, "Shut up! I could replace you with a Volca Sample!" That damn Octatrack. Sorta a Tell-Tale Heart situation. But those Swedes make magical boxes. I hear if you open one up it's full of lingonberries and pixie dust.

Any eurocrack addition I might have had, seems to have passed. I'm satisfied! :) The Octatrack is awesome, and wont get replaced! Liking your techno mixes, listening to qel06, good stuff. Thank you for the comment!

This is very nice stuff! I think you kinda missed the opportunity to get those famous drums in. Or at least the energy peak (to net let go of the ambient feel too much). Other than that this is as good as you can turn In The Air Tonight into ambient!
