This is a great start to addressing this issue. I do think all pastors before they graduate from seminary, are given a church or ordained into ministry should go through a rigorous amount of counseling and psychological screening. The pastors role is imbedded with the type of authority and trust that can be intoxicating to a wounded soul. All pastors should have to ensure those emotional and mental wounds that cause the abused to become the abuser are binded through therapy and surrendered to Jesus. If not they should not be allowed to Shepard a flock of even more wounded souls. It’s a recipe for disaster. Hurt people hurt people and that wisdom.
