@rodneyholmes52605 жыл бұрын
Static straight kicked his ass, after learning some valuable lessons. I remember this arc fondly. You have to stand up to bullies, win or lose. And stay true to yourself. Lessons from yesteryear that need to be taught today.
@BlerdWithoutFear5 жыл бұрын
Preach! Honestly, I feel like these kind of lessons taught me a lot of things I may not have learned until I got older. My folks always taught me to stand up for myself, but its hard to teach someone how to cope with peer pressure. This is stuff I wish kids today knew more about. How to handle yourself without betraying who you are. Shit is powerful

"We're gonna be talking about Static..." *immediately clicks like button* He was traumatized from the everyday whoopin', so it makes sense - some lash out and some fold in. I was introduced to static through the cartoon and JLU series. So I guess I'm biased with the outfit but it's nice to see the original source material.

@Wonder2win5 жыл бұрын
Why? Who would you be putting hands on? If you're talking other supers then you're needlessly creating enemies that can possibly pull your card at some point. If it's just regular folks then you just become a bully.

Sometimes thats just how life works. One of my favorite wrestling personalities always said it best... Just because you CAN do something... Doesn't mean you SHOULD do something. Besides... Eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind. Who's to say "you" using superhuman physicality to get revenge doesn't make you a bully to someone else... Every villain thinks they're the hero of their own story...

20 years later, I still love Static! Let's be clear I am talking about Static, not Static Shock. I've had to correct people about the differences. I like the show, cool messages, I watched with my kids on the DC Universe app, but Static, the comic always remain supreme in my book. Like Virgil, I got a weird name, am a Blerd, was bullied, had a girl who was a friend who I wished was more than a friend so this was a book I can relate to. I don't know how much free time you have, but I have a podcast called Hero Nation where my co-host and I look at underrepresented heroes and we talked about Static, Static Shock, and Milestone Media. If you ever get a chance, check it out on Facebook let me know what you think. Back to cleaning! I'm just listening to so many of your videos. New subscriber, but glad I found it!
