Professor Hanson, these review session are very helpful for understanding the material in full detail. These problems are not difficult.

This review was tough for me, but I actually gained new insight into the functions because of it. Only now do I really understand where the directional cosine formulas come from and how the coordinate method words. I still managed to mess up vector 2. I got the values right but messed up the order and the sign.

How can the angle between the y and z axes be 105 degrees for F2? They're supposed to be perpendicular axes with an angle of 90 degrees between them.

shouldnt Ox= from +X axis to F vector which is 90 (between x and y) +60 = 135 ?
@justinpratt254511 күн бұрын
cos 135 is -.707

I used the first method to find F2. I did the squareroot=F2 and it was 180 as well but the components were different. What's that about?
@kylejohnson84473 жыл бұрын
if you used 150 as the swing angle like me, that is incorrect. i dont think the 1st method can be used on F2 because we do not have the swing angle

I'm pretty sure the equation for F1 is incorrect. Isnt this similar to spherical coordinate where, x=(F or rho)*cos(theta)*sin(phi)?
@alfredbaku6183 жыл бұрын
PLease you used the wrong equations in calculating f1

Maybe you were confused in the part the teacher write -60 degree. Actually this sinus is cosine of 30.
