A beam with length of 1 m is supported at both ends by a pin constraint. The beam is subject to a distributed load with triangular shape from x=0 (position of the left constraint) to x1=0.5 m, with maximum value f=60 N/m reached at x1=0.5 m. Then, an additional distributed load with triangular shape acts from x1 to x2=0.8 m, in which the magnitude decreases from f=60 N/m (at x1) to zero (at x2). (a) Sketch the free body diagram of the system. (b) Determine magnitude and position of the equivalent concentrated loads for the distributed loads. (c) Determine the constraint reactions at both constraints. (d) Now, assume a value of 8 kg for the mass of the beam. Determine the constraint reactions for the same configuration (with the distributed loads as described above), taking into account the weight of the beam (assume homogeneous material across the whole length of the beam). Can you make it for me plzxx

A.o.a sir I have a question. Can I ask you? The question is about the problem 2/8. My question is that the direction of F2x and F1x is towards each other at the center (point O), why? Shouldn’t we apply head to tail rule here to draw Fxs? I mean the direction of F2x and F1x opposite to each other (away from the center).

The line of action of two given forces is passing through point o,the components of both the given forces will direct towards o also the angle of F2 with the x-axis is not known, its is asked that find the unknown angle. in order to make resultant vertical the x components should be equal. We can't apply head to tail rule for this problem directly. I hope u would have understood.

Point c is below point b ( straight vertically downward) and in front of point a ( straight in horizontal direction) so the x co-ordinate of b and c will be same and y co-ordinate of a and c will b same. Just draw it on page and think.
