Today it is time fill the missing piece in the new production line and finish the furnace. While I am not being distracted by other things.

34:52 What I tend to do when I want to insulate a furnace is to install a passive vent into the furnace room and connect it directly to an insulated tank. That way the room can 'breathe' as much as it wants to and I never have to worry about it blowing anything out because the tank increases the volume of the room so much that it doesn't matter if I'm at 3000° or more... No messing around with backpressure regs... they're too slow to release pressure anyways, in my opinion.

37:40 Solid Fuel (Hydrocarbon)? It's pretty easy to make and stacks to 500... (See my Stationeers Survival, Season 3, Ep 48 & 49) Just need a basic furnace and a sealed, pressurized and very hot room.

Elmo's mod for the Meson scanner lets you swap between cables, pipes and chutes. However, I found it difficult to use to help lay cables and pipes as the mouse button to switch layers on the scanner is the same as the one to lay the cables/pipes. You might have more luck with it though...

Maybe use a counter flow our some kind of heat exchanger on the combustion centrifuge output to transfer the heat to a hot tank system.

I'm surprised you're not setting up a GFG for backup power. You can use your cooled N2/O2 tank for cooling it in a contained room, or your upcoming CO2 storage kept as cool as you can to keep the CO2 from liquefying. I have a setup in my base the uses a small amount of N2/O2 as cooling and one GFG to produce 11.8KW of power on demand. Theoretically the setup can handle 2, maybe 3 GFGs with the current cooling, although with 3 the cooling tank intake might be an issue. The N2/O2 tank is setup nearly identical to yours, almost as if I copied it or something, so it can easily be expanded too. Also, while the centrifuge output is low, it will eventually build enough pressure for the striling engine. The centrifuge spits out a small amount of volatiles and O2 as well, so it will continue to combust a small amount. With a base that size, I'm sure it would be worthwhile to have a hot exhaust tank somewhere that collects from any source of hot gas you would normally dump to squeeze more power into those batteries. It's obviously going to be a very power hungry base. Great series, love the content. You're the reason I keep going back to Stationeers. Just when I get bored of doing the same things over and over, your content gives me ideas and new thing to try to experiment with. Then try to make better, and fail miserably, but that's how you learn.

Love the way you are thinking about the layout. Where are you planning your gas handling and hvac system? Perhaps a stirling or maybe even a gfg? Question about your furnace and the gas centrifuge: You have a nice hot setup now. How are you making the cold alloys? Are you planning to write a ic program to automate the startup for the centrifuge? You have automated nearly everything else.
@cowsareevil7514
@cowsareevil7514 6 ай бұрын
I might not need a gas plant as I can harvest all I need from the atmosphere. GFG not worth the trouble. Stirling yes. Cold alloys are made carefully. New combustion will probably require new furnace code so wait and see. Automation will happen for everything.

The pipe data experiments are turning into a bit of a running gag :) Good to see the fuel ice crushers tuned up. Presumably, you'll be wanting a cold gas tank for the furnace for making solder, etc ... unless you're going to add a cold furnace. re: To stirling engine or not to stirling engine from centrifuge waste gas -> With your current setup, you know you're right. If using NOS to fuel the centrifuge though ... possibly not a bad backup power source, as well as handling more throughput from the deep miners. -> The GFG idea from another comment here sounds like a worthy idea , though.
@cowsareevil7514
@cowsareevil7514 6 ай бұрын
NOS would improve the efficiency of the centrifuge, but I dont have a practical source of NOS. I want the base to be self sufficient and I can get O2 from the atmosphere infinitely and H2 from the composter and the NOS maker is too power demanding.

@@cowsareevil7514 Makes sense to go for "standard" volatiles/O2 fuel across the board (for now, at least!) from a maintenance and self-sustainability perspective. Once you have an initial stock of cobalt and silver, two deep miners seems to be more than adequate for most general building. Also, agree on the NOS maker: The "return on (power) investment" was less than stellar in you Mars terraforming series, lol

How do u get the needed furnace temperature for making solder with this setup? If u just put ice in it, what do u do with the waste at the End? PS: Love this series and the game. I hope u make a video about the new memory stack of the logic sorter and the printers. I understand that in Theory, but I could never create a complex script like a "Vendor Restock"-Script with it.

36:00 controlled explosion; guess every player, at some point, have had an uncontrolled blowout. Personally, it was trying to fill a liquid tank (the canister, not a storage "kit (liquid tank)") to max. My issue was, I didn't realize the small ammount of steam gas would overpressurize the tank. Canister full of liquids, and that eerie creaking noise started. Knowing what it meant, I picked up the tank, and chucked it into my chute system which had it end up in my greenhouse (I panicked, so tossed it at the first inlet I saw). The result was spectacularly destructive; only remaining structure was my solar tower, a kit (battery) and half an airlock together with a trader waiting for his water. Everything else was gone. This lead me to some experimentation, and one thing I've found is: you don't need hot gases to dig out room for a base. Just need some reinforcements where you don't want to excavate, and an overpressurized water canister is quite efficient compared to the prep-work required 😅

@TianarTruegard
@TianarTruegard 6 ай бұрын
I believe solar angle horizontal now matches perfectly on the daylight sensor. For vertical, if I remember right, you have to adjust 90 degrees from the daylight sensor reading. You can either do that using logic chips or the IC chip holder and an IC 10 chip with a program. If you haven't figured out the MIPS programming yet, there are plenty examples on the Stationeers workshop. A basic setup using a single connector adjustable solar panel involves placing both the solar panel and the daylight sensor with their connectors oriented in the same direction. You cable them together. Using logic chips, you will need logic readers, one each for the horizontal and vertical axis. You will also need 2 logic batch writers, one for each axis. In addition, you'll need a logic math processor and a memory chip. For vertical axis: the logic math processor will be configured to subtract the value on the memory chip from the vertical value, which you read from the daylight sensor using one of the logic readers. The memory chip setting is "90" for 90 degrees. You use one of the logic batch writers to write the output from the logic math processor to the solar panel's vertical setting. The horizontal setting is simple, you use a logic reader to read the daylight sensor's horizontal angle and write it to the solar panels' horizontal angle setting. Cowsareevil certainly has done solar tracking MIPS (IC 10) code in his videos. Try looking at one of the earlier episodes in this series. There are also other KZbin videos if you want to try doing it using logic chips instead. I prefer using the IC housing and an IC 10 chip with code I wrote. You only need the one housing and a daylight sensor to run the tracking for all your solar panels. The only part I usually struggle with is getting the angles to line up correctly so the panels track right. The usual problem is the daylight sensor isn't oriented correctly.

@@TianarTruegard Thanks, I understand how to make it work.. I just dont get how you cant get the proper values on both H and V somehow if you mount sensors a certain way.. But you never do.. THAT'S the part that I dont get. Seems like you should be able to get one sensor to read proper Horz and one to read the proper Vert.. But you never get the right vert angle.... Yet you subtract 90 from one and it's right... Maybe I'm not explaining it correctly. I've got a system working properly. Just wondering.
