Merry Christmas! Happy New Year. 2024 will have new challenges, but we shall all rise up to meet them head on. Economists say recession ahead, so I’m tightening my budget and will be more frugal with my stationary purchases in the new year. Now I’m shopping for a cheaper cellular plan.

I am trying to be a hybrid planner/journaler. (Work is separate and electronic) I don't need to plan much - an appointment here or there, noting holidays & significant dates, my son's school stuff, and maybe meals. (I don't plan chores or hobbies, I just do them) So my Hobonichi would be "wasted" for just that in my mind. So I am trying to plan where needed, but filling out the space with journaling, collage, gratitude, memory keeping...

Hi Job! I’m from SoCal and have visited Vancouver BC and would say BC has some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. I even visited some of the coffee shops from your vlogs. 😁 The coffee in BC was SO good and I could really tell the difference when I got back home. Are you missing the coffee shops in Vancouver?

Thanks for continuing to be an inspiration for journaling. So you went dumpster diving, eh? We can't really do that in Japan since the garbage removal system is completely different. Although there was one time I was walking around in my neighbourhood, and someone had dumped a karaoke system to the curb. I did stop to look at it, but I never claimed it. My planner stuff took a back seat while I focused on developing my guitar skills. But not completely! I kept updating my blog, and I could print that out if I want to catch up quickly and efficiently. It's very hard to manage different hobbies outside of work, so I find that I end up cycling through them. By the way, I gave you a shout out in my last video where I talked about embracing your journey, instead of focusing too much on your destination. In that segment, I was doing a demo of Scott Moffatt's guitar lead in the song, If Life is So Short. I'm currently working on trying to master his extended lead from the live performances. I think that music and journaling do pair well together, and I always try to record the milestones that I reach. The other day, I figured out another song completely by accident, and it has me laughing my tail off every time I play it.

We will carry it on TRC USA again but it'll probably later next year! I think there are a few on Etsy but the pricing is quite steep due to resellers selling them for a profit!
